Had a power surge last night and my pc wouldnt boot up today, after about 50 attempts it finally booted, i couldnt even enter bios, even the keyboard didnt work. Totally locked out on boot up :( , even the router had to be reset, Anyway pc is working for now, i havent tried to reboot since, fingers Crossed.
Going to get one of those power surge protectors 2moz, so isnt worth the risk again.

Told me it was 100 attempts :P
Thankfuly I've never had to deal with a power surge. Are the cheaper protectors worth getting?
didnt have any anti surge equipment untill a couple of years ago when a lightning storm took out my router and modem, luckily my pc was unplugged.
now i use anti surge on everything expensive, hifi,tv dvd players and 2 desktops and a lappy
if you get a decent make they include equipment insurance incase the surge protection fails and you get fried.
ive got a belkin one, not bad with £10k insurance.
on a funny note while i was hoking under the desk to see what make it was i accidently unpluuged the pc and had to type this again...duh
i unplug my pc everyday... just for the heck of it... ime more worried about the gov ppl fiddling around the cables than a surge :/
last year they changed a house to 3phase and wired it wrongly.. it went kaboom///
Someone told me that if there's a big surge, then no surge protector is gonna save ya.
I don't know either way though, but I may invest in one.

would it help to plug a surge protector into another surge protector?
A daisy chain of surge protectors...Imagine the possibilities
simple, unplug your pc and your inet connection :P
with nothing connected to your pc theres no way the surge can flow into your pc..
