Title: leveling a warrior.
Post by: sheepy on May 18, 2006, 11:11:20 AM
I would like some opinions on what some of u guys think is the best way to lvl warriors

Obviously I constantly look for better armor, as soon as I see any that is better I get it.

Weapons wise I maily use a 2 handed axe, but I also occasionally use single handed axe and shield just to keep that option not to far behind the rest of my char development, I generally do this when I am grouped with slightly lower levels than myself as we wouldnt be attacking such hard stuff.

Spec wise Im using a lot of fury and arm talents as obviously its the killin stuff that get the XP. Even when with a 1/2 competent healer I very rarely take hardly any dmg, in groups coz stuff dies to quickly ( thanks to TL's enchant on the weapon).

just any hints etc would be handy,

Also best places to be around at certain levels, im currently at lvl 30.

Hanging around northern wetlands and around certain parts near darkshire as im still gettin ok XP from here but wont be soon, a few of the other areas I have explored I just die instantly! When is it sensible to start to attack the suff with ?? as there level????????

Hmm, never? Level ?? means that it is 10+ levels above you. Not 100% sure about the number, but enough so that it will most likely kill you if you are solo.

This is a pretty good levling guide. (http://www.wow-pro.com/Knowledge_Base/cat=135.html) I know several people in the guild have used it. I check on it now and then for good places to level when I play alts.

hehe yeh thier right, wow has a leveling bar set up something like this:

Your level
-10 => gray, no exp
-10 to -3 => green, low exp
-2 to +2 => yellow, full exp, low risk
+3 to +5 => orange, full exp, median risk
+6 to +10 => red, full exp but pritty sure to kill you, long argo range
+10 => level shows up as ??, lethal as hell, best avoided by running arround in a BIG circle

Weapon prefrence wise what do you recomend, 2h weapons or 2 1h or 1h an d a shield, or is it just personal prefrence?

well for leveling id go w/ either 1h 1h or 2h for dmg, as 1h/s is a bit low on dmg. Which of the 2 you choose is up to personal preferance and weapons you can get your mits on eazyly, fe you can get a very fine axe from scarlet monastry @ lvl 34ish

The Whirlwind Axe (http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=6975) can be obtained in the early thirties and is amazing for the level you can get it at. The earlier you get it the more fun you have with it.

You get it through a warrior quest chain starting here (http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?wquest=1791). At level 30 you probably will need some help completing this quest chain, but I'm sure something can be arranged there :).

Sheepeh, I'm levelling my Priest using the above Guide and am in STV at the moment at L33, so hook up with me and we'll level up together.

Top drop tip of the day:  the trolls in STV that you need to grind (according to the guide) whilst L32 to get to L33: they drop a shed load of BOE greens.  In an hour their today I got 10G of green BOE drops (vendor price only) plus a 7G enchanting recipe (beastslayer).  Very good drops there for that level :)

Also, remember to log out in an Inn where you can so as to maximise the rested bonus you get.

Go follow that guide Sheepeh - it's a good one and with you playing that character as your main you'll catch me up in no time at all.

Oh, and don't go throwing away that nice blue weapon I got you, especially with that nice Fiery Weapon enchant on it!  The green on is not as good!

Go arms for 2 handed weapons, and fury for dual wield. Its up to you really which ever you prefer. I don't really know what tips there are for leveling a warrior, I just kinda killed stuff and did some quests until I hit 60.

Make sure you level first aid, quite useful for a warrior as there only source of gaining hp in combat other than potions.

Upgrade armor regularly as it will help you take less damage, and since your playing melee, its a lot more important than a caster since with a melee character, your probably always going to be getting hit.

Take strength gear to boost your base damage which will probably help you level quicker. Stamina for lasting longer, probably better for when your gonna be tanking at higher level.
