Title: RG1 in MC
Post by: TeaLeaf on May 23, 2006, 01:44:12 PM
My 2 cents: I'm talking out loud here!

/flame retardant cloak ON

I posted a thread asking people to note the number of drops they need in MC and have now compiled their responses into the attached spreadsheet.  In essence it tells us what we already know, that most RG1 members are done with MC.

Average drops required were 1.74 across 31 RG1 respondents.  This includes people who put a legendary as a 'needed drop' and also people like Snowstormer (who apparently needs 5 drops   ), Bob (who needs 5   ) and newer members promoted up from RG2 into RG1 who clearly still need some drops.

The bottom line in RG1 is that just over 70% of RG1 needs 2 or fewer drops in MC.

What does this tell us?

Well it could be something or nothing.  My own take on it is that it means MC has a sell-by date for RG1 and that at that point we should stop MC or drop it to a lower frequency.  I would think another month in MC would see the average drops required go below 1.0 per member and at that point I think we should change MC to every fortnight for RG1.  If push comes to shove and people really *have* to have MC on the agenda then I would prefer to see MC bumped to a currently unused raid night to allow us to keep 3 RG1 raid nights.

The time freed up we can invest in AQ40.  I'd like to see us announce a weekly raid at AQ40 starting in about a month.  By then any RG1 folks will be bored with MC and not likely to need much if anything.  those that do would be able to join RG2 or an optional MC raid for RG1 members.  not really thought this bit through, but I think we need to do something.

When you can clear 7 BWL bosses in one night then it is time to move on.

I agree fully on the most. I have the reservation that i think it would be fun to see us progress faster in a totally new dungeon, so we could see how good we actually are compared to the likes of anything/danu/ragnarok/righteous. Maybe we could even get a server first kill?

Personally my view on AQ40 is as it always where. I dont particular like Silithus or the whole "bugs" area, but since my main focus in the game is too clear all the main dungeons, im torn between doing AQ40 first, or going directly to Naxxramus.

Would just be fun to be part of the things being done first for a change

Well as much as it would suck leaving MC behind with no stormrage leggings, I guess I would have to. We can't keep the guild there much longer. We may however be able to do signupraids with whoever wants to go there with alts, friends and whatever. And we still need RG2 geared up.

afaik he says that we need to build it off to 1 in 2 weeks, and then use the freed up day in AQ40

Not necessarily, but I am suggesting it as a possible first step.  I am also open to suggestions for less MC nights but where we hold periodic but irregular MC nights where we maybe do an official 'speed record attempt' or just a plain old loot run in MC.

Im totally with you there. MC on a monthly schedule or just a non-raiding day, doing BWL+AQ doesnt restrain us from doing MC in the same week.

My goal = Full MC + Full BWL clear in one night (Max time being 4 hours 30 mins) :D

So the proposal is I guess needs to phase in any changes.  So do we announce that we move MC to every two weeks initially or take someother approach?  We can make the run a speed run to spice it up a bit if it helps.

Yeah, every two weeks. But please lets make BWL the instance we start with then. So suggestion-wise like this:

Thursday - BWL
Sunday - BWL
Tuesday - Ahn'Qiraj

On top of all this, still do Onyxia. Lets not forget her, since we need the stuff from her, at least the things that doesnt drop very often.

well then we need more ppl within the month to lead RG2, cause if we gonne do this we need a full officer group for BWL, and it would cause trouble in case we dont have 80 online

Then you need to recruit more defenders essentially

I like keeping it to 1 instance progressing myself, then when we're done with BWL we can go to AQ40 since then it will take less time to clear BWL.

We did this with BWL, why not AQ40 too?

Take Nefarion down before adding a new instance.
Then see if we can get BWL down in one day, Should not be too hard since we can clear to him in one raid.

Then when we get him down on aregular basis ,add another raidinstance.

Hmm.

When/if we do a drop of MC could we like do the switch RG1 RG2 raider thing for the ones who stil need things from MC . By then we should have full Tier2 from the first 6 boses in BWL ,and loot beeing diss enchanted. THe number of pl jumping ower should be VERRY limeted as RG2 wil be dooing BWL by then and wil be needing theyr ownraiders, use same DKP system as now.

just a thaught . no need to run to the press with it straightavay.
