Title: widescreen or not widescreen?
Post by: suicidal_monkey on May 28, 2006, 10:41:18 AM
Anyone here using widescreen? I'm (really) going to get either a vp930 or a vx2025 as they've come down in price recently and are on a good deal at scan (£265 for the vp930 and £285 for the vx2025) but the widescreen option...

Would appreciate any input from those who are using widescreen for gaming (bearing in mind the vx2025 won't have the 1:1 pixel thing, so will require drivers to deal with that sort of thing...

I've gone for the widescreen option :)

I await the replies telling why I was wrong to do so ;)

I hope to go WS with a 19" ACER jobby which has positive reviews on the web. I just hope my new (ebay bargain) 6800GT is upto the job of running BF2 @ the required screen res.

well ... I have a 9800pro :) I briefly owned a (refurb) dell 2005fpw which I managed to get condition zero and BF2 running okay on. I hear the viewsonic should scale pretty well, so I'll be okay until I upgrade to a "modern" graphics card  a 19" wide is usually native at 1440x900 so not very different in pixel count to a 1280x1024 res. i'd hope a 6800gt would do that rather nicely!
