tried emptying cache files, new drivers everthing and now im reistalling from scratch...... it worked yesterday on 1.22 :mad:
any ideas?
Reinstall patch. One time I had to install the patch 3 times before it finally worked.
Also, try and turn off the backgroundprograms like F@H, who knows, maybe with the new patch it's screwed up again.

Make sure you are not using a refresh "over-ride" program to set the refresh to something the game can't handle. After the patch it tries to start in 800x600 @ 60Hz. If you are forcing a different refresh rate at that resollution then it won't work
The patch messed up my sound :( About one or twice a minute the sound disppears for a short while. It sort of lags. Tried setting it to medium quality but no luck. Any ideas? Has 1.3 changed the program with respect to sound in some way? :(

I will try and reinstall my nforce drivers, that includes the onboard sound. Thanks.
All other sound settings are fine and functional. Only problem is in bf2, and only after 1.3 patch?
Unfortunatley its a known problem with the 1.3 patch, I had my first BSOD yesterday as I was unceremoniously dumped out of BF2 - twice.
There's something odd about BF2 patches. Not once have I had a problem free update. I've always ended up having to reinstall and patch with the complete update rather than piecemeal. If there's another patch I shall go straight to the big download option.

EA's latest on the issue:
After a thorough investigation into the issues plaguing the server browser after the 1.3 patch we believe that a last minute update in the way the Battlefield servers and Gamespy servers communicate may be the cause. We have decided to revert this change in an attempt eliminate these browser issues. Please note that no uninstalling or re-installing is required by players or server admins. All servers currently running must be restarted once this change has taken place. Please also note that if you are experiencing CTD issues upon start up that any alternate-ranking redirections in your windows "Hosts" file must be removed.
The reversion will occur at 2:00 PST. We are continuing to review other issues players have noted with 1.3. Further updates will be posted to this space as they become available.

took 3 installs of the 450mb full patch thou
now i havce to find my profiles on one of my backup discs
patch seemed to work first time but I've lost my BF2 disk (hoping it's in my "old" DVD-RW drive...) so I'm just assuming it's okay :)
Have never had any problems with BF2 patches.
Now why did they give the comanders toon weapons to play with??
Dropping a bloddy car on my squad capping the flag.
Seems like it is more often used as a weapon then for suporting your troops.
Let them drop a tank so they feel the pain when the survivor getts the tank <_<
