I think that practice is a good thing and should be guided by the maps we are about to play in matches.  Some of the maps we have now got pretty much off pat, but obviously we have some new blood to bring along.  The noobs may be better taught with a small group walk-through on Baldric rather than a full-on practice?  Maps were we are still 'not good' should be practiced as a full squad, but only when we have developed a FULL set of tactics for that map.

My only concern is that we spend too much time away from MHPCS.  For the next 6 weeks we are running 5 matches per week and that does not leave a whole lot of time for normal PCS  :(   I wouldn't want to see the MHPCS regulars suffer if we start adding in extra practices.

1.  Choose the map to work on.
2.  Debate and finalise a full set of tactics.
3.  Train the squads on the tactics.
4.  Test them in a praccie match.

Just my 2 cents.

We could have an afternoon session on a Saturday or Sunday.

We definitely need to get them up to speed on Aztec, Dust2 and Inferno at least. We play these maps a lot in matches.

I am avail for praccie.

During the remainder of March we have

Enemy Down:
5 matches on de_aztec, and 1 on each of de_dust, de_dust2 and de_cbble.

Clanbase:
2 matches on de_aztec and 1 on each of de_train and de_inferno.

UKCSL4U:
One match on each of de_inferno, de_aztec and de_dust.

You see, we do try and book matches on maps with an element of cohesion  :D   Any training we do should have these in mind.

We have developed tactics for most of these maps.  Without saying we are good or bad in execution, I would say that our knowledge of where we should be and what we should be doing scores as follows on each of those maps:

de_aztec - 9/10 (8 matches)
de_train - 7/10 (1 match)
de_dust2 - 7/10 (1 match)
de_inferno - 5/10 (2 matches)
de_dust - 5/10 (2 matches)
de_cbble 6/10 (1 match)

So if you want to put some effort in to refining the taccies then you can see where we should be focusing our efforts.

I can almost never make a Sunday afternoon praccie and Saturday's are at best difficult.  Evenings are preferred by this old fart  :)

I suggest we agree a date and time and then post it as a praccie session on availability so that we know whether or not anyone will turn up!

What do you think?

Well I was just testing the water and it looks like I fell in lol

Ok how does this grab u …..

TL could u post a practice match at 19:00 before the match with [BOX] on the availability page ?…..oh Sunday that is
We should be able to field 50% with the people playing in the match later and a bit of pipmping on the forum should pull the rest in
I would think we get too many rather than too few

Then... we see how many people we get available……

Then... when that’s moving we can sort out the who what and how stuff

If we use the map being played by the team later we give them a good warm up “bonus!”

If the availability works out so we have ghost and zombie teams great,,but if not mixed is fine

Let's get into the habit of changing Baldric's password whenever we use it for a praccy. That should stop the PCS players dropping in.

How about: dmwtrain

any other thoughts on the format of the practice?

One SL on each side that walks through all the tactics for each side and then switch sides. Then play a MR12 with one SL in spectator mode giving live feedback.

I think that is how we did it on Aztec last time.

Regarding password I think dmwtrain is good (easy to remember).

Cheers,

sorry gents im not about and saturday life getting in the way.....it looks like we would struggle to get 2 full teams at the mo also

What about the sunday when we have 11 people available for the match...that way we should have plenty of support

If agreed.... sawp the availability (soz TL) to sunday and we let the troops know on the forum

As for the format sadako's plan is a top idea .....having people to feedback should be of great use but must be done with care as to not upset people

some items for disscusion are ????

1 If we have a large response do we run on MH or not also???
2 Who should play(new or match members?)
3 How long for a walkthru
4 Awp use (tactical use only i would say) dependent on loosing team economy
5 chase cam off/on

Even easier is what i have put on the availability webbie.  Then you don;t have to remember anything cos it's stored on the screen  :D

Oh yeah, the pw?  dmwpraccie

And it will be that way on EVERY praccie just to make it easier for those peeps who can't read......

QuotePractice Walkthru / Match

OK pips we are trying to set up a practice slot before some matches in the near future

This way I hope that we get a refresh of the tactics/positions /plays and a warm up for the pips playing in the match later

The times for these practice will be posted on the Availability page and will be about 1 hour before the match..time enough for a walkthrough and a game

So in a nutshell we need members support in being available to get enough members to hold a 5v5 6v6. The players to used for the match later should be on the same team in the practice with the rest of us making up a team to challenge them

Overview

Please remember this is a practice and as such it should be used as a learning tool not a frag fest so some simple guides may be required

This is an opportunity to work with other can members learn the way they move/camp. I

The practice will not be PCS it will be match play

Awp may be used (dependent on the loosing teams economy) but you may be asked to drop it for a scout

A quick walkthrough before each half to learn / refresh tactics

No need for the knife round straight in with pistols

Dependent on availability we will try to get a SL on each team and also one watching to feedback any constructive comments

Follow the SL and try to give good communication

Read up on the tactics before the practice to get them fresh in your mind

Last bit

It would be useful for any comments on the practice to be posted so if something was good/bad shout up about it and bang it on the privet forum

I was thinking of posting this by thursday to pimp the topic....what do u all think ????   constructive comments welcome

looking at the availability we almost have enough members for a pre match practice again on sunday...is it worth posting on the availability again to see who can attend.... match is at 20:30 so i think a 19:15 should be time enough for tactics and a game
