Well, as the name says, post your build (or planned build) here. I'm still stuck between a couple of options
TL.
Just made a little fast build... this is a frost spec which im looking at atm :D
FAST BUILD (http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/talents-mage1_11-0050500000000000000000000000005052312313310002253.html)
I have a mage too, and i have been thinking of this build - thinks its good for both fire and frost - mainly frost though wich is my favorite :D
http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/talents...0013003500.html (http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/talents-mage1_11-2000000000000005050201020000005052312310013003500.html)
EDIT: Been thinking to do the improved blizz instead of the shatter but not sure...
I just had a quick look. Whilst I will certainly respec for late rinstances, I think I am going to be boring and go with this one (http://www.wowhead.com/talent/?o0xEZZVAMckftmo) initially.
EDIT: Strike that, I forgot something, I'll repost a corrected one in a sec
TL.
After looking through the talent i noticed the wand spec has been revamp too :D
new build (http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/talents-mage1_11-0050500000000000000000000000005052312313310002253.html#)
Is Winter's Chill a debuff we *all* benefit from? I've already worked out that you should max Piercing Ice instead of using the 3 points in Winter's Chill, but what I am trying to judge is whether I would benefit from the debuff put on by another Mage's Winter's Chill. If I do then I am figuring I can free up a point by going 1 point in Winter's Chill and then with 5 mages in a raid there is a pretty good chance I will be benefitting from a Winter's Chill buff (up to x5 stack) anyway.
Anyone know?
Kreg, I'm currently coming out with a very similar spec to the one you posted, but it just feels not quite right - I'm thinking some more.
TL.
well dunno if we all benefit from it... ill try look around
I think i'll try talent build (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/mages/talents.html?0050550300201000000000000000000005053203112311300) just for start, will see how it will work in raid.
I'm sure Improved Blizzard will helps in Nefarian fight
I was thinking about giving my mage something like this (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/mages/talents.html?0000000000000000055002012003000005053203100351050), but I'll miss out on the clearcasting from the arcane tree :(
I'm turning to all you wise mages for some advice for my alt now that I must do a respec :)
How does this build (http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/newlayout/mage/talents.html?0050550000200000505030012003000000000000000000000) look as a start with mainly solo leveling in mind (and perhaps a few instance runs now and than to boost up my gear)? I'm only 38 now (soon 39), so I'll need a few more levels before I can fill out all the talents I have chosen there, but that won't take me too long :)
And perhaps any advice where I should go when I pass lvl 45 and get even more talent points to spend?
In advance; thanks for your help :)

Hmm :g:
Obviously there seems to be no wise mages around... :P
Well as an un-wise Mage (sorry, but I only saw the post this morning), I would say this:
The link to the build did not work.

Hmm, was shure that I tested that yesterday and got it to work, but it doesn't seem to function properly here at work at least.
But I'll have to check into that when I get back home - can't sit at work using time with that build ;)
I'll post a new one when I've fixed it.
Hmmm, now that I'm back at home the original link that I posted still seems to work. But I've also made the build with the curse gaming's talent calulator, so you could also try that one out: clicky (http://curse-gaming.com/en/wow/talents-mage1_11-0050500000000005053001020000000000000000003000050.html)
I also just submit my original post (with my original link that still works for me), and I would be delighted if any of the mages could give me a comment or five, and perhaps also give a few helping hints :)

I'm not expirienced in fire-builds, always used frost-arcane.
So, i can only suggest in some frost-oriented builds, i like frost for:
1. better crowd control - so u can handle more targets alone in same time
2. cheap in mana - no comments
And also can suggest about gear - go for +damage items always. Priority for me always (if we talk about leveling up mage ofc):
1. +damage, +crit, +hit
2. intellect
3. stamina
4. spirit
and on low levels (as 40-50) there are many items which oriented to build, for example try get at AH +frost damage items if u go to frost build, or +fire damage if u will choose fire.
P.S. Hope i've helped little :) and sorry for not improved english (i have to respec from russian build :))
Just curious. Are any of you going for Fire spec? I know at least RG1 mages should be able to, since MC isn't our "main goal" any more.
Aye, and fire mages do some pretty insane damage
IVe been 1 shotted many a time by them
"Dentist has critted you for 4.8 k pyroblast"
"Voretex has dropped the flag"
:(
just look at Mage Grinding Guide by CURSE :) (http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/article-130-1-mage-grinding-guide.html), hope it will helps :)

[/b]Thanks alot Zheads, your help is much appreciated :)
When it comes to frost vs. fire, I've been told by some that fire can be good in solo cause you can DPS down your targets very fast, but ofc there's also the benefit from frost with improved CC... maybe I just have to try around with different builds and see what fits me :)
Those gear priority suggestions also sounded very nice, I'll try to keep those in mind!
Sweet link, ill also look at it once i get home, and also, at some profiles of mages in rg1/2 how they went about specing up.
Hmm.. Interresting.. I might start playing on my mage again.. too bad max rested is 1½ lvl.. He has been standing in Feathemoon Stronghold for nearly 6 months now.. still lvl 42 :(
Just got to damn tired of playing him.. But lately I discovered the joy of playing my UD lock again (hadn't played him since Nef was lvl 43) so I might give him a try..

I've been considering it but from what I've heard Frost is actually still better for PvE damage. I guess I'll have to check a few sites and ask some people.
If I'd go Fire I would probably use this pure PvE Raiding Fire spec:
PvE Fire Build. (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/mages/talents.html?2300550000020000505202002303305100300000000000000)
