Title: I don't know about you...
Post by: DogMeat on June 24, 2006, 08:26:31 PM
...but I'm finding this game to be a complete pile of shite.  Settings disappearing every time I load it.  Settings disappearing in the middle of TANGOing qualifying. Settings reversing themselves right at the start of a race.  Maps that come and go as mysteriously as a New Labour manifesto promise.  Maps  that have to be chased down and installed by hand.  This is 2006, FFS - not 1986.

I am completely and utterly pissed of at this amateurish bag of rancid dogshit masquerading as a game.  I've seen free software that would make the developers of this poo-fest want to hang up their mice in shame forever.  Better yet, they should just hang themselves and have done.

Cnuts.  The lot of 'em.

You may be correct.  The object of playing a game is supposed to be enjoyment, right?  Well I don't enjoy this game, with it's half-assed approach, its continual annoyances and its overall amateurishness.

I really don't find it relaxing or fun to need to be TANGOing around continually tweaking this, resetting that and reloading something else just to drive an imaginary TANGOing car round an imaginary TANGOing track.

And you can shove your toffee up your exhaust pipe. :P

Ever thought of therapy  <_<

I have some controller issues, but not to the same degree that you seem to be suffering.

Admittedly the game has some flaws. Name a game that doesn't. But there is sufficient enjoyment in it to make allowances. Most, if not all, of us are playing without too much hassle. If we get some trouble we try to find out how to overcome it. Putting on your 'Mr Angry' hat and flouncing off doesn't help. But each to his own. Sorry you and GTL didn't get on.

Maybe dMw should have a server supporting a "real" driving game instead with better programming. Some ideas:

GTR FIA Racing

I think last night tipped the scales too far in the opposite direction.  HTF do you make allowances for a game which forces you to set up your controls every single time you load it and then arbitrarily resets them for no apparent reason in the middle of a game?

I'm so glad you're alright, Jack.  It's such a comfort knowing that.   <_<
