Maybe we could start with a standard pack with map?

This pack (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/battlefield2/download.html?sid=6136346) has a few good ones, and it comes with an installer so no hazzle.

Two good maps:

[a] Mahoni Island is fun, even though the screen dumps on the net looks poor it looks like okay in game, and the gameplay looks really promising!

Nan Hai looks good, different, and also promises okay gameplay.

I think we have already tried nan hai, lots of chopper action but not much cop for ground punders. I would prefer to give map pack 3 a go.

Hopefully the new infantry based map will be out shortly along with the new patch.

I went to install it on the server but I think OB beat me to it. Map Pack 3 IS therefore avail to be used tomorrow night.

I think we had a play on these maps when they first came out.

Of course, AAS isn't set up for any of those maps, so I wouldn't try them in AAS mod.

Well, I'm pretty sure I didn't help when I had to step down as BF2 Section Admin due to ill health. Because of that the game has sort of dropped a bit but many of the guys still make an effort and meet on Monday nights. Sorry I couldn't keep things going guys :(

I put once a month but it seems that I get the new update, play for 5 - 10 mins, everybody leaves and I don't play again until the next update.

My own fault though for taking so long to upgrade my rig. I'm still looking at 10 min loading time, that's one painful wait for a quick game of BF2.

A new map pack could entise me back into the BF2 ways and actually get me off my arse to buy a suitable computer...
