Very interesting.  If I read this correctly, enchanters are going to become very rare indeed.

WTB more pack space? or was i mistaking when i saw you can remove gems from the items yourself to

and speaking about enchanters becomming rare, im sure they will get a boost to get equal or better ( in some cases )  stuff to work with

or perhaps you can have both on 1 item? :)

enchants and jewels occupy diff slots as far as i know

you can also change the current gems with better gems, and also combine colours (like D2) but you cant just remove them

They prob made the gemsystem so people could adapt more armour to their class. Like with a chestpiece with a whoole lot of stamina a hunter could persay add hell of a lot of agility to it.

Socketed items where very populair in the Diablo 2 game.  And mostly the runewords drove your weapons and armor to superior stats...

I'm waiting for all this nice that is coming soon I hoop..

So, you can swap gems but not simply take them out, why make the distinction?, sounds more like the crystals in KOTOR (1&2) though, and also it seems the slots are colour coded, if you use the right colours you get an extra FREE stat :)

I'm only guessing here, but I think the gem that was in the slot before it gets destroyed. That at least sounds in keeping with the WoW way of doing it.

Yeah, that's what the Blizz section on it says currently. You can add new gems to an already occupied slot if you like, but it'll irreparably break the gem currently in place.

Also, I think someone possibly got the wrong end of the stick a bit with the combining of gems. AFAIK you can't actually combine a red and a yellow gem to create an orange one (for example), but the slots for gems in a weapon will be colour coded, and you get bonuses if you have all the slots filled by gems of the same colour as the slots. An orange gem (for example) will count as being 'the right colour' in both a yellow slot and a red slot.

Booooh! I dont want sockets! I`ll use my eye-sockets and plug them with 2 times "Rune of RUNE" if you dont know what RUNE is, then Ask Ragnarh.

I bet that a "Rune of RUNE" would be worth a million gold! Just ask Ragnarh.

My rogue would blow up once two "runes of RUNE" was inserted in her eyesockets, Thus exploding a big damned crater covering the outlands, making room for a GIGANTIC UN GORO CRATER EXPANSION!!!!

Omg, what a powerful Rogue I would be.

RUNE OF RUNE 4TW!
