this was not in any way aimed at anyone in particular ...it was a general rant .... I know how much time I spend trawling through ed looking at possible suiters for matches .. ( I understand Hippy does similar) ..then the challenge, then wait for reply, then tune the finer points (how many awps/MR12/15 ...times etc.) re-challenge ... update avail page...or add new thread (if its a different map/day to normal) the list goes on ...
Then the time comes round to about an hour before match starts ....and the 8 people who were available start of the week are nowhere to be found ... I, then go chasing folks on other servers to find out if they are coming over to baldric to
a. confirm avail,
b. make sure that we got enough folks and recently for sgl,
c. make sure any ac software is up to date ...
IF there is still not enough to make up the required number then I have to contact folks through msn/forum/ even the phone ........ there is only so much that can be done ... I am not here to persuade folks to play cz ...if ya dont want to ...dont ... simple as !!!
but dont put yourself down as available if ya know there is a chance of not being there thats what the MAYBE section is for ... I know things come up in RL ... so please dont shoot me down on this one...
I WILL, be standing down as arranger in the near future, but am very willing to help out if someone would like to take the reigns (sp), but TBH I just dont think there is enough interest in dMw anymore for cz ...
I will carry on for the time being as we are VERY active on 3 fronts ATM ... ed / sgl / ed cup , and I dont want to upset the apple cart yet .. but I thought fair warning was in order .. I just hope that for the sake of the "hard core" of cz'ers (as we have come to be known) that there will still be the opportunity for cz matches in the future with dMw ..

It's a real PITA when you've put in a whole bunch of effort just to find that the 'just turn up and play' brigade ... don't.:eyebrow:
As long as people want to play competitive CZ then dMw will do its best to make sure those matches are there for you. But you gotta be reliable and committed and understand that if the rewards of doing the arranging are constantly being outweighed by the hassle then the arranger is going to call it a day.
MAD_ness has worked damn hard taking a flagging CZ section and turning it around to be more competitive than it ever was before. With help (from Hippy in particular) the section has survived a lot longer than many of us who tired of CZ thought it would. That was purely down their enthusiasm, dedication and hard graft. They deserve your support and respect.
If the availability page is kept as accurate and honest as possible then the decision on whether to carry on or not would be obvious - no interest, no matches. Simple.

I also appreciate the time/effort you and Hippy put in for aranging matches.
We both know that from a very active -=[dMw]=-squad we've turned in to a -=[dMw]=-squad that isn't that active anymore due to other games.
Also the summerholidays are coming up (also for me in a few weeks but you'll hear from me when/where/what).
I think SGL was a tad over the top for us. Although we've won a couple of matches, ED keeps knocking on our doors aswell.

As a clan leader previously I can appreciate all the effort that goes into all this sort of stuff & my hat goes off to anyone crazy enough to do it all. I love playing in matches with you guys & I'm gutted when I'm stuck on lates missing the action (or from just missing the matches from being useless)
I'll be sorry to see you step down mad as you've done a top job & I'll be even more dissapointed if the match scene goes completly, its bad enough only having a few hours on the hook once a week....
I'm gonna go find my pipe & slippers & reminisce about the good old days.....

the fact that this thread is on charlie view only is the reason there have been few replies.
I said my bit on the linked thread...I have played a couple of matches but tbh I don't get the praccy now that MH is empty 6 days a week, so I am not really ready for it yet (I'm on Bod most nights as you know, but I'm not improving<_<)
There are a few bravos that would be well interested in playing...Tox for 1, and didn't sulky show an interest? there are more, but my mind is feeble...
correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the results/fixtures get posted in a charlie only section?
it's no wonder then that there is little interest...no-one (apart from charlies) knows it even happens.
I don't know what the solution is, maybe opening up competition to Bravo members, or fast tracking/encouraging some more charlies or just announcing fixtures/results in open forum would help?

Maybe posting the matchresults in a publicarea would help out more (offcourse without the matchnotes or a short version of the matchnotes).
We could also make a post if there are any Bravo-members who are interested in Charlycompany and matchplay.
And VV, I don't think CZ-matches are dead for -=[dMw]=-. We just need to sort it a bit.

I think we have enough dedicated players to keep playing matches but we may have to schedule in match holidays during the main holiday season. I remember us having them when we had a thriving CS match section. If anything has to go, it should be the SGL as we're new to it and in general the ED matches are more fun. A huge thanks to MAD_Ness for all the work he's done in keeping CZ alive in dMw.
As already said, please keep your availability updated accurately as it's the only way we can help make life a bit easier for the guys arranging the matches.

Sorry Blunt but the post was made in the Charlie section ... because thats who it was aimed at ... its the Charlies who play matches, so thats who I wanted to inform of my intention to stand down ....
We threw the corn down for other bravo's to show us the interest with the recent influx of new charlies in the last few months.....unfortunately the new promotees have not had any impact on the match scene (with the exception of one) PM's were sent out .... application forms were not returned ... :unsure:
I keep a spreadsheet that shows who plays and how often and the figures are really quite an eye-opener
out of all the charlies who currently play in matches there are only 10 who have actually reached double figures in matches played this year ....
we have played 74 matches !!!!!!!!! :blink:
and out of those 10 ...there are 6 that have played in over 50% of the games ... that is amazing
IF THE HARD CORE 6 AINT THERE ...THERE JUST WOULD NOT BE A TEAM !!!!! :angry:
now I am not going to name them as that would be unfair, they know who they are ... and their support has been well appreciated over the last 11 months ...I know everyone appreciates the work that goes into it...and thnx for all the replies guys.... but the best appreciation is knowing that everything has been set up ready to rock ... and I can help to choose a squad from lots of bodies on baldric who can go in and hopefully kick a$$ ......:whistle:

You misunderstand me ..I think:unsure:
I was refering to the fixture/result posts you make.
I am not refering to the match notes...but brief reports could be made so that bravos could see what was going on...
personally, I didn't realise the amount of matches we contend until I had charlie access, and when I was an alpha (although cz was the flavour then) I didn't have any idea of the matches except when we got turfed off the match server.
all I am suggesting is letting the rest of the community know what is going on....I'm sure there are several bravos( and a few alphas) that would be interested in cz comps...we should encourage them if they are the right sorts
Although I've only played a couple of matches (disastrously for me:blush2:) I am chuffed to bits to hear that you've won, and sad when we don't.
I appreciate all of your hard work (Mad, Hip & the guys) but don't want to see it wasted.
I will play at least 1 match a week (quality not assured:tongue:) if it means we keep going...I am free most evenings & I'm on x-fire. I'll try to post my availability too.
