kk my problem is that i have a 3 shift work. morning shift , evening shift, night shift. now if i happen to have a evening shift = 13 game time to 21 game time. i get to home 21.45 ish. and the problem is that on these evening shift days when i can only get into raid at 21.45 should there be space (last 2 raids there was) its impossible for me to reach required attendance, if i wont be allowed to get attendance from any other than the FIRST one hour of raiding.
now i was checking if i could get a rule change on this? to help a loyal and dedicated RG1 member keep hes attendance up. to THAT of 1-2h in raid at any time = attendance ! or something like this. after all i would have never taken this job unless theyd pay so damned good. and i did try living on bread water and air for 6 months while having like 95% attendance (not taking a real job to keep raiding which resulted me quitting wow forawhile becos of poor lifestyle)
but sadly we cant all be fed by our parents til we are 40 years old, thus i have to work but i am trying my utmost to keep my attendance up and you guys should know enough of me by now i never give a raid more or less than 100% when i am there. so plx officers could ya help me out plz?
any input from any member/s would be appreciated as in what you think about if that rule should be slightly changed. thanks in advance
It's a raid topic, so I've moved it to the Raiding section for Members to comment.

Thanks i wasnt certain where to post but this works :)
Hmm this sort of brings up the two sides of this story
Yes i want to keep Ashjen as a raiding member, and we do not always need 40 people from the beginning of the raid to make good progress if a few people would join in later for the harder bosses like ragnaros / nef / chrommy that will work, and i guess the dkp they miss out on for the first bosses will work out to keep the "reward and efford input" balanced
but the problem will be if one member gets to do this, so could others and i would hate to be online and ready at 19:15 and only have 20 people to start BWL with so if we will say give a full attendance point if you are in the raid for a certain amount of time we would also have to work something out that would make sure enough members to be online from the start
oh! I never realised that attendance was a binary yes or no thing per raid, I thought it was worked out per hour, so if i am in a BWL raid for 2 hours out of 5 i get 40% attendance at that point and so on, it might be more complicated but it certainly fixes the problem, you get attendance for what you did, otherwise people in the queue don't get attendance at all even if they raid for 5 hours.
This way people who leave early don't get full attendance either, so if you are only ther for 1 hour of one 4 hour raid, 2 hours of next 4 hour raid, then 4 hours of next 4 hour raid, then that week you made 7 hours out of 16 = 43.75% , sort of like phone bills being charged per minute or per second, it could be taken down to number of seconds raiding but i'm not THAT anal, 1 or half hour chunks would work out well, in Ashjens case, he may only get an hour or two per night but it should make everyone happy :)

This pretty much sums up my thought also... i say we recruit 1 more hunter to fill up the hunter spot, and let Ashjen hang in there to eventually have some better raid times
Maybe I misunderstood "recruit" but do you mean promote a RG2 hunter or get a new guildie?
QuoteMaybe I misunderstood "recruit" but do you mean promote a RG2 hunter or get a new guildie?
New guildie.... we are lacking 1 hunter in RG1 AFAIK
why? you promote a RG2 surely and fill the spots from "behind"?
you risk having ppl leave to apply again for Rg1 lol :D
like, use the veterans the RG2 creates to reinforce the frontlines?

you mean like pluck the best rg2 people for rg1 so we make a bit faster progress maybe and leave rg2 to sort out the mess and not be able to make any progress?
better to look outside the guild unless they have a hunter to much
Almost every evening we have 7 hunters, so we arnt short of hunters duk ;)
But noone from RG2 are allowed to move to RG1 - and it isent an upgrade anyway :P - RG2 will be picking up some pace in BWL dont worry :D
Don't see the problem of Ash getting in a bit later we can manage till he gets online we got balls enuff i should say :flirty:

Give 1 guy special treatment, give the 100 other raiders special treatment. You're an hardcore raider, but gettin into who deserves what isn't any of our buisness. Depends on the eye that sees. But a question comes up to mind , would you really take the spot of someone else, "just" because you (in your opinion) have contributed more than anybody else? Is that fair?
hmm whos spot m8? if the raid is not full, ofc il get in the raid on my own spot as rg1 member .. maybe i misunderstood something just got off nightshift its 7 am :S and i didnt once ask for any special treatment did i say that? i asked for a rule change or something similar this would mean it applies to everyone. but i can see how damaging it is if we have half the ppl logging in later just for the loot ;/ bah humanity sucks we should all be cows.
Mooooooooooooooo 8)
Just to backup what Siffredi wrote. RG1 is not the "frontline". We are fighting on two different frontlines here so if you abandon the one front to join the other just because they have pushed the enemy a little further back you will be seen as a deserter.
And deserters will be shot!

The Attendance DKP itself is given to those there at the start fo the raid - it's the incentive to be there on time so that we get a full group ready to raid at the advertised time.
In addition to Attendance DKP there is hourly DKP. SO if you are in 2 hours of a raid then expect DKP for those 2 hours. Your individual DKP records show the Attendance and Hour DKP being added separately.
Just wanted to clear up the binary thing in case it perpetuated a myth.
Hope this helps.

It's an upgrade in the sense that RG1 is raiding on 3 days and RG2 on 2. So if you want to raid more often, the option to go to RG1 should remain open to RG2 members imo, but only under the condition that RG2 doesn't 'suffer' from it. Personally 2 days suits me fine, but I know there are people in RG2 that feel different about this.
RG2's progression will stagnate at some point in the near future due to these time constraints. Is it fair to 'hold people back'?
Anyway, this doesn't apply to me, I'm just saying  . But this really isn't the thread to discuss this.
Yeah, that is what I mean. I didnt meant to be referring to Rg1 and RG2 as "1st place and second place" Just ment to upgrade ppl from RG2 that have the wish and capasity for raiding more :)
TL, i didn't mean the attendance dkp etc i can see that, i meant the attendance that is used for statistics, since attending the start of the raid is good, you get dkp for it, but turning up late shouldn't necessarily mean you get 0% attendance for that day.
When I talk about attendance I mean the thing that causes people to be gently moved from guardian positions, not necessarily the dkp.
Basically if you turn up 30 mins late due to unforeseen circumstances, do you get put down as having missed the raid, receive 0 attendance and move one step closer to becoming a soldier, even though you were there for the next 4.5 hours?
Hunter spot? *cough*
yeh what umbra said :D
