Hi
I was wondering...are you supposed to get DKP for a raid if you are queued?
The reason im asking is that this monday (21. of august) i was prevented to sign on until around 19:30, and by then the raid for RG2 BWL was allready full - which is in general a good thing. I was added to the queue asap.
While RG2 was in BWL having fun, i wanted to join a guild-raid at ZG....but it turned out that the marshalls wanted to keep me in the queue, so i was not permitted to join the ZG raid.
And now it comes....if im not allowed to join other raids while queued - i would atleast expect to get DKP as if i attended the raid - except DKP for bosses and random epix's, but that goes without saying.
Am i all wrong about this? :eyebrow:
As told you Monday I will look in too it with the others Marshals but atm we do not have a solution ready.
Hi GD,
When i checked the DKP this morning and saw that nothing had happend - i thought that you might have forgotten all about it.
Thats why the question was raised. :)
Normaly you dont get DKP when you are in the queue. And you have the chances to get in asap when a slot gets free and it is your turn to get in.
In the time you are waiting for the spot you got all the rights to do what you want. But I do understand the marshals, for not letting you get into the ZG run.
If I was in a queue I woud place my char outside the instance and then relog to another char. ofc let the marshals know what char you are on, so you are easy to get to again.
All in all. I dont see why you shoud have DKP for waiting in the queue.
So what you are trying to tell me is that, on raid-nights, marshalls own my char, even though im not even in the raid?
I dont see why there is no - lets call it "compensation" - for having to stay away from other raids - in the hope of getting a spot.
Companesation might arguably be described as being the chance to get epic loot and DKP when you get into the raid. It's kind of quid pro quo for not being there on time in the first place?
As Deadly says, when I queue for a raid group I tend to park it at the instance entrance so that it ready to go in immediately when needed, otherwise you keep 39 other people waiting in mid-instance.
So, when you say that the officers 'own your character' on raid nights let me reverse the question. Would you expect it to be reaosnable to go on a UBRS run and to see a priest leave just before Drakkisath as their MC queue postion become a free slot? Or would it really aggrivate you? ZG is just the same except it's not PUGs you're aggrivating, it's 19 of your fellow Guild members.
QED.
TL.
It was never my intention to leave the ZG raid if had gotten a spot.
I might be naive, but i would have expected that once i joined the ZG raid, i would no longer be queued for BWL.
So just for the record - the next time i might end up in the RG2 queue and another raid is forming...the marshalls wouldnt mind me joining the other raid, if i explicitly asked to be removed from the queue?
There should be no DKP for being in the Queue, but its unreasonable that you are not allowed to go on a ZG if you are in the queue and you didnt sign up for beforehand.
A lot of people (like myself) only have one character and its very unfair to just say that i should log the character outside the instance and wait to get in. That could mean hours and hours.
40 man raids should precede the 20 man raids though so if you decide to stay in the Queue, you will have to tell the 20 man raid that you might have to leave later if the Raid Group needs you.
Thats the fair way in my humble opinion
Think of it as a RG1 raid that you wont have a chance to join either.
My opinion is that if you want RG2 then you ought to be prepared to *not* raid elsewhere on nights when you are not able to get into the raid immediately. That's why it's called a 'queue' and not 'AFK doing something else'. I understand that people do always have other characters, but you know what? The queue time is an ideal way to level up alts and it makes sure you do not delay the entire raid when you slowly work your way back from Feralas to BWL with your HS on cooldown. I believe anyone in queue should be within easy reach of the instance entrance.
All RG2 members should join the queue when online on a raid night if they do nto get into the raid group.

Sorry, but i wouldnt just stand around 5-6 hours waiting to come into the raid, i just cant do that, thats too boring. I know thats what suits the raid the best, but its pretty unfair towards the player i think.
I didn't say stand around :norty:

Well, DonnieK. I read what you wrote and I somewhat agree. I guess you guys that raid can "feel" wheter or not you have a chance in hell of getting into the raids when you are in a queue.
If you are a tad late, I think one should be happy that there is a queue system so you have a chance of getting in.
On the other hand, if you find a sweeter deal than hanging around BRD while waiting, you just leave the queue.
The officers can decide that you have to be on standby when you are in the raid. But in the end, you decide if you want to be in the queue.
They cant reward you for being in a queue, but cant demand that you get into the queue either. So if you are 5th in the line, join something that will be worth those hours you would eventually wait in line for spot.
