Title: Playing well
Post by: Whitey on August 24, 2006, 07:59:14 PM
Not me but CS:Source.  Just had a quick game with BB and I always loved the look of Source but it seems so much better than the last time I played it.  When you shoot at someone it hits them where you expect and the strange movement doesn't look as strange.

I hope we can get a few more players on later tonight (8:30) as I'm looking forward to some more.....

Yup it does seem to play better, but the voice comms is a bit iffy. Any chance of having better codecs?

I'll see what I can do :)

Some very good games tonight and lots of people joined. It just goes to prove what we have been saying, if you want people on our servers then you have to use our servers :)

It would also be good if we could restrict AWM's.

My initial investigation tends to suggest that we are stuck with the existing codec but I'm sure we changed it in the past.

In the meantime please all check your microphone settings as some people were very muted tonight while others were booming:

Question: You know I have all the variants of Countertrike, which one are we playing at the moment?

Nothing decided Pete. We're just giving CS:S a whirl for the last couple of nights. Where we go with CZ/CS:S is up to you and Whitey to decide as you are currently looking after CS for us.

Even I jumped on for a bit now that I've got my computer working again

CS:S certainly has come a long way and looks fantastic. Now all I've got to do is get my mic working again.

err, CS:S? :lmfao:

One of these should do it if it isn't already listed in available games with steam:

Yeh, was a silly question.
I was getting confused with HL2.
If I bought HL2 does it have CS:S included?

If you buy the premier pack it has HL2 and CS:Source included but it's a lot more expensive.

I think buying HL2 gets you CSS automatically doesn't it? I bought HL2 on DVD (equivalent to the steam-purchased "bronze edition") and CSS was included. Might have changed by now of course. The HL2 "silver pack" was the one to get before - look for a bundle offer on steam?

While I was checking everything was working after the update, I found a moving target that doesn't shoot back
