Title: Princess Huhuran - Strategy Update
Post by: TeaLeaf on August 30, 2006, 07:53:43 AM
This is a reminder of what we need to do before our next attempt on Huhuran.

When Princess Huhuran goes beserk at 30% the nature damage she starts throwing about is seriously insane.  We basically need to get half the raid (ie at least 20 of us) with at least 200 unbuffed NR, ideally in excess of 225 unbuffed Nature Resistance.

The difficulty is that you never know if you are going to be one of the 15 closest people targeted for special damage treatment by Huhuran during the beserker mode.  If you are say number 21 and we have 6 people die (let's say 3 rogues and 3 tanks) then you become number 15 and now need high NR.  If you have not bothered to get high NR then you will die almost instantly and the person behind you in the list (number22) will now find themselves as number 15. The process continues rapidily and starts a cascade wipe which usually ends within seconds (like last night).

The raid's job will then be to keep our top 4 groups of NR alive (this allows for 5 deaths and to still retain 15 high NR people nearest Huhuran).

The raid then has to ensure that all those not expected to be in the top 20 NR groups have as high NR as possible as they *might* be in the top groups if sufficient die.

We saw last night that the DPS required for Huhuran is not huge, we had her down to 26% fairly easily and well within the 5 minutes we have to kill her.  Our problem was people not resisting the nature damage.

GO FORTH AND GET NATURE RESISTANCE.  Do whatever you can.  Do it now.

I'm a cloth wearer, Lunares is a cloth wearer and both of us have over 225 unbuffed Nature resistance.  If we can do it then you can too.  We want at least 20 people in the raid with in excess of 225 NR unbuffed for this fight.  Ideally everyone else should have over 200 NR in any case.

That's this week's challenge.  Get you NR up to the required levels and I firmly believe we'll take Princess Huhuran down next time.  She does not have massive health, she just does massive nature damage.  We already have the DPS, we just need the NR to kill her.

Good luck this coming week.  Huhuran down next time we visit AQ40 please

We did a bang up job last nite getting a new boss to 27% in only 2 tries.

Now adding to TL's tactics, can every1 in the raid also get the new threath meter (i belief the last version is 17.13 for rogues, or 17.12 for every1 else) so that we can check the agro of the fight, and that we can call out which tank has / needs to get agro.

Hehe, I just added that in the tactics section along with details of our pull and positioning

The dictate is sound, the reasoning is not, is cloth NR gear harder to find /more expensive than other types? If so, please ignore me :)

1. I've done a quick search for some NR gear that's not too hard to grind, and posted some links in Raid forum and I'm willing to help out anyone who wants to grind for some kit. http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=15702

2. You only need the 10 AD tokens the first time round, after you are revered, after that it's just a few gold for each shoulder enchant.

3. Necessity does not alter bank balance ;) so for those without the money to get the ironvine stuff: beg, borrow or steal, e.g. the elemental belt is nearly as good as the ironvine belt, but it's free ;)

if your 15 in closest, the 30% mark needs bulk NR not stats, i bought/got 2 +18/20 NR rings, and green of NR +18 gloves, just to push me up to 290ish. Stam is ofc important for warrs, but NR should be highest valued stats on this one

Huhuran is a pure survival fight. Basically, just stock up on stam/NR gear, and you're good to go :D Another thing that may help is drinking an NR pot before the try, and also for the closest 15-18 people with the high NR gear, down another one just before she hits 30%. This is normally where people wipe, because of the transition bit between the none zerker and being in zerker, helps a little, the amount of times I lasted a lot longer by downing just a normal NR pot at 30%, even when it wore off rather than not downing one was crazy.

QuoteDon't forget to go get 10 Argent Dawn Valor tokens and hand them in at LHC (in EPL) to get the +5 NR enchant (http://www.wowwiki.com/Nature_Mantle_of_the_Dawn) for your NR shoulders.
Don't cha need revered? :P nvm, actually read the link this time :p

With last nites attempt there was a distinct differance between the ppl w/ over 300 NR and under 300 NR in ability to stay up. Idealy most of the 20 closest ppl should be arround 300-315 buffed.

Yep agree on that Bastet,

the poison damage I got took 750 per tick....that's pretty much.

Wouldn't it be an idea to let the low NR geared healers heal the ranged groups (3,4,5,6)?

They are far from Huru that way or does the poison gets realy far?

hehe, the 750 DOT is nothing compared to the 2k hits the 15 closest get if low NR, hence the 15 closest need a good 300+ buffed NR to knock it down to just over 500 incoming dmg.

AGreed, I think the 15 closest need to aim for 315 buffed if at all possible.  Without the NR you go down real quick.
