Title: No public beta for BC
Post by: Bastet on September 06, 2006, 10:47:18 AM
QuoteWhile we do plan to host a closed beta at some point in the near future, at this time we do not have plans for an open beta, like what was experienced just before we launched classic World of Warcraft. It's always possible that our decision on this matter may change, so your best bet is to periodically check the website for updates, but I'd implore you not to get your hopes up, as it is very doubtful that these plans will change.

As posted by Eyonix on US forums (see here (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=14732285&postId=146512712&sid=1#7))

It might be a good thing, no public beta would make BC to be released faster (but with more bugs(?))! :narnar:

And btw by private beta they mean the current alpha test is going on?

Alot of high-end raiding guilds were also chosen for the beta testing.

Yep, the alpha started a few weeks back. The first two weeks were the bloodelf starting zones, the two weeks after that the draenei starting zones and now it's 60-70 (though the druid, hunter and priest are currently unavailable I believe; which might also be the reason why their new talents and skills aren't known / leaked yet).

The beta will be exclusively for community site owners / journalists (and other by Blizzard selected people) and everyone that went to the BlizzCon.

The release is sheduled for the end of November. It will be released then, since the publisher wants to earn as much $$$ as possible.

Searching for more info about Druid talents in BC I found this post by a Blizzard poster:
Quote08/09/2006: We are close on the Priests and will be working to get things put together on those and are still working on the Hunter and Druid. I still can't tell you specifically when people will be seeing them however nor can I give any hints.

and

Quote08/09/2006: It looks like we will most likely have free-respecs once BC hits due to the changes to additions of new spells and talents as well as the reshuffling of some talent trees.
