Title: What do you still need from MC RG2
Post by: Sazgul on September 10, 2006, 02:55:45 PM
Id like to make a public post about what RG2 members still need from MC.

this way we can have a backup plan if a 3rd raid day isent the thing. We might wanna do over a 2 week period 3 x BWL 1 x MC.

This way we get much more practice in BWL and MC is not left total behind. And the people getting VERY bored in MC still gets some of the positive effects from an extra raidday without having it.

So im wating for a green light on posting this on public to RG2

it can be cool, but i think we had to wait the rg2 final vote about third day before;

then we can speak ( if it fails) about this.

Only thing i need from MC is Thunderfury - and its not likely to drop... so need no items. I would agree to focus more on BWL as we dont do progress with only 1 BWL night so a rotation on weeks sounds good.

I do think it's a great idea Sazgul and we do have to act now.

I can make a raid calender in here under "calendar" if needed.

And idea might be to start alternating MC BWL weeks with BWL BWL weeks, that way ppl still can get some MC items while trying to make progress on the other week in BWL.

Maybe we can make MC by sign up's(like the AQ/ZG system) for all members of RG1 and RG2 so the people who really needs stuff from there in both raidgroups have a chance to get it and the people who thinks they are done down there can have a day off.

FMs will consider that.  But in the mean time plan to continue to do MC until you know your gear is ready to drop it.

So if it's ok with Marshalls I will make a post for RG2 members to post in what they still need... I think it helps to give us a point of where we are gear wise.

Id also like to hear about doing this i an announcment post.

Two week RG2 raidsystem.
Week one (even weeks)
Monday - MC
(Wed. MC/BWL reset)
Thursday - BWL
Week two (odd weeks)
Monday - BWL
(Wed. MC/BWL reset)
Thursday - BWL

Give an aye and i'll post. The we can get startet next monday. Week 38.

Using the KISS thing and assuming that most people do not work in week numbers but use the rest as a WoW week start why not just issue it as:

Two week RG2 raidsystem.

Thursday - BWL
Monday - BWL

Alternated with

Thursday - BWL
Monday - MC

Another question (two actually):

How many items do you DE each MC run atm?

If you keep wiping at Vael is it a gear level problem?

i.e. is reducing the number of MC runs a sensible idea right now?

The last few times I did ML/DE We got around 10-14 Nexus on one run. But I have been doing DKP lately.

Not sure Vael is gear problem or just plain not understanding the fight, tho it seems all do, and after your help TL, none should have doubts. But a post about what ppl need from MC will give us a pointer of where we are gear wise.

I still think we can reduce MC runs atm. We can give it a try and see how it goes.... I just think we need that whole day with Vael to learn it.

What kills you in the Vael fight? I also heard you arent using KLHthreatmeter - which is excellent for that fight - is that true?

We use KTM, and what kills us is Vael   - Our tanks wipe and we get killed, is what happened the last few times.

I would love if we had 4 x Prot specced MT, imo this would help, but hey im open to suggestions and good advice

I dunno, do tanks aim for a solid level of FR? Ragnarh refuses to pull if any of the tanks are under 200 FR.

Tank groups look like MT MT pala fire, pala devo, warlock imp?

Do rogues vanish @ MT1 burning?

Well... depends on who is healing what in your raid. Specifically paladins/druids are healing the tanks on Vael. Priests are healing the rest of the party. That works fine for us. Naturally also major dps is a must. If the tanks just die before they are "burning", then its a healing problem. All healers should only use Max healing spells since they cant run out of mana, and also the healers need to do major overhealing all the time since the tanks otherwise lose the health too fast to overcome the obstacle.

Remember also that tanks actually need a fair level of Fire Resistance in this fight, its sometimes overlooked by our tanks.

The fight is in no way easy and needs a lot of training and luck. Until fairly recently RG1 would still wipe from time to time on it, and you cant afford 2-3 people playing really bad, then you just wipe.

Sounds to me like you need to have more experience on it, and just keep in the way you are doing. Maybe sorting the healers a bit more out and making sure that Tank healing goes before anything else in this fight

Hope that helps a bit, otherwise i can come help you one day if you need me to looks things over.

Good Luck 8)

I will prefer starting with MC so if the inconceivable happens and we don't clear MC in one night, we can continue to following Monday.

Good point, RG1 use a similar philosophy in that we have to clear BWL each week, so we're unlikely to ever leave BWL until Tuesday as we run the risk of not clearing.
