Title: Lan Exchange?
Post by: GhostMjr on September 23, 2006, 04:56:35 PM
Not sure if anyone was thinking of bringing some games etc to the Lan but if you have any old games maybe i can swap some of the ones i have lying around at home for them. Or if you have some computer equipment and want to clear your attic out bring it along and we can try and give it a new home. We usually have a desk of bits and bobs  for swapping or for prizes. Don't just leave it lying about give it a nice new home. :D

Well, I do have some games laying around that I'm really not using, an example: Deus ex, Rainbow Six, Spec Ops II, Tom Clancy's - Rogue Spear, Delta Force, Hidden and dangerous.

Let me know if anyones interested.

If you've got both the room and the inclination then I would bring them along

got some bits and pieces if anyone is interested, but I'd like to know before the lan if there's any interest so I know whether to pack it or not ;)

games
GTL, American McGees Alice, X3-the reunion, Dawn of War, Battlefield 1942

hardware
apple mac laptop 12.1" Aluminium Powerbook, 1GHz, 256ddr, new 80Gb HDD
Linksys WAG54G v1.2 ADSL modem/router/switch/wireless unit
Dlink di-614+ router/switch/wireless unit
usb speedtouch adsl modem - weird green stingray thing
microsoft internet keyboard pro
modified XP-compatible (gameport) saitek r100 steering wheel and pedals
various fans, connectors and suchlike - definitely need to know what you're looking for though

Some of those thing I'd obviously want cash for rather than old games, but those are the thing I want to get rid of soon! :)

I do indeed! I have an Orange Akasa 120mm. I think it's billed as being around only 18dB - I bought it for silence for my old system (new system is in a weird format case that hasn't room for 120mm fans antywhere. I think it's this one, cant recall which of these two I bought it from though:
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=154681
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Akasa_Fans.html
used for maybe 6 months or more in my old case? It's quiet ;) I also have some older, fatter heavier-duty 120mm PAPST ones that are less quiet but push a lot of air.

indeed it is! :) It's been working nicely since then but I recently bought a linksys wrt54g which you can stick custom firmware and suchlike on. Also it allows for the faster 11g wifi.

Rogue Spear is the only one I have from a Clancy game and I played that a few years ago. I did play it a bit but then got back in to CounterStrike again.

I must've missed your post.

I would like to buy one of your 120mm pabst fans. I have no room in the cabinet atm but I plan on cutting a hole for it and then ditch some of the 80mm fans when I set up the PC at the new house. I have a good ol' thermaltake cabinet.

Edit: Ooops and sorry for that Monkey...

okay cool :)
As I said the Papst fans aren't of their quiet variety. As far as I could work out from the model numbers they're meant to shift a lot of air though. The akasa one moves less air but has a noise rating of 18dB. The Akasa fan is 25mm thick, the papst fans are probably 40mm thick, all 120mm fans I'll bring 'em all along. Also the papst fans will require a plug to be put on the end to hook up to your psu :) not a hard task though and lets you think about wiring them to the lower voltage

I've got some power cable extenders around here somewhere. Looking forward to see 'em

Let me know who's interested.
Suicidal_Monkey, Tobias (Toby) is not coming this LAN but he'd like some off them. Can you get a few to him if I bring some of them for him?

Or did you guys enjoy the Young Edammer Cheese a bit more?

Duval thanks for thinking of me mate, it is true that I will not be able to attend this very special Lan and I hope it is a great one.

If Monkey you can get some of the siropwafels for me mate I am sure we can arrange a date to meet up.

Take it easy all and have fun.
