Well, after BWL been cancelled last monday i dont really know if next thrusday MC raid will be kept on schedule for RG2, so, if this is the case and RG2 will be doing MC on thursday, please, feel free to remove my signup for this PUG MC run.

Read this thread Saori - we will be doing BWL again next 2 raiddays... If were doing MC in a week when there is a PUG MC no RG2 main can signup for it.

And that raises my next question: when will the run happen? Thursday (even though it is a raidday for RG1/2, or next wednesday?)

Cant be thursday, and fryday/saterday are no good on attendance, ppl going out drinking etc. So it will prob be next week. Expect new sign ups for then though.
Don't give up too early. They did this last week on the other half of the servers, and they were done by around 5 o'clock pm. We might be lucky.

I guess tuning in on TS would be a good idea for spreading the word if the server comes back up. This way u can play your second favourite game (we all know which one comes first), and u can get the message asap when it's back.

To be totally fair with Blizzard, we're actuall not. During last week's maintenance (when a minor patch was supplied as well, if I remember correctly), there was a similar list of realms that was kept off-line all Wednesday and also the beginning of Thursday. That time it didn't include Aszune.
I guess it's just something they have to go through with all realms, and that they are splitting it up a bit for easier handeling :smile:

Well, i think 36 hours for having all the servers down is a huge amount of time for operations!!!
It is a very short time when you are putting up new hardware of this magnitute saori. And a 36hour downtime is nothing compared to not getting new server hardware and loose 300hours to lagg the next 4months

I dont share the same opinión, let me explain why:
- if you have a short infraestructure like about 5 servers in a data center, you will need at least 2 ingeeniers (or computer techs) to proceed to do the maintenance and change hardaware and so, in about 3 hours the job is done.
- if you have 25 servers (5 more times) you will need 5 more times staff for proceed with the changes, about 10 people and the job is done in 3 hours.
- if you have 50 servers, you will need 20 people and the job is done in 3 hours.
Another thing (completly diferent) is if you try to commit those changes in 50 servers with 10 people, total time will be 6 hours or more, if you only have 5 people, total tiem will be 12 hours...and if you only have 2 people, total time +24 hours....
So, is just a mater of planification! more servers = more support staff
And allways if the company is interested in mionimizing downtime in their systems, and belive it or not, 36 hours is totally unacceptable!:angry:
Yes but last time i checked standard maintanance needs atleast 6hours just to go through the standard checks they need to do and it isn't just limited by manpower. Usually it is limited by Hardware, I could reinstall windows from a mirror image on 100computers in about the same time as i could on 70computers and you would not cut the time if a second person was doing it but you are still limited by the time the computer needs to install the system.
Even though the software is most likly finished installed it will still need some extra checks for a new system and the standard maintenance so the 4-6hours for installation of the hardware. 20hours for all the checks needed for as complex a system as the game world is for all the servers and then 6hours for a standard maintanance.
well i seriously expect it not to be up till late tomorrow afternoon, if at all before the raid
