Title: CSS source and ED requirements.
Post by: JB on October 09, 2006, 05:44:00 PM
Basically I posted this in the public section and thought about it and didn't wanna incriminate me.  :roflmao:

It's basically to deter the fly by night clans by making it hard work to get into ED they hope those that play 2 matches and then fold just wont bother trying.

Frankly they don't need to be real E-mail address as they aren't actually checked to be valid, as far as I know none of the details are checked to be valid or correct. The only exception to this are Steam ID's that are checked against a number of cheater databases. Maybe fake details such as dmwDuvel@deadmen.co.uk (dmwDuvel@deadmen.co.uk) and dmwSheepy@deadmen.co.uk (dmwSheepy@deadmen.co.uk) would satisfy the admin and not jepodise the personal info of dMw members.

So long as details are present I don't see it being refused.
Its anal yes but open to interpretation.

*this information will self destruct should it be revealed publically*

Is the part about each player having their own page really needed or will a single web page with the details on it be sufficient?

Single page is fine.  Only needs 6 members so we only need a few little lies.

Hmm... maybe a bit of a redesign needed for members page, some of the people on there aint been seen for years now.

Quite simply remove the deadwood, and have a list of CZ'ers with details and a list of CSS'ers with details.

Ala...

Game Condition zero.
Player:  JB  ID: blah blah  Mail:  blah blah
Player:  Sheepy  ID: blah blah  Mail:  blah blah
Player:  Jamoe ID: blah blah  Mail:  blah blah

Game Counter strike: Source
Player:  JB  ID: blah blah  Mail:  blah blah
Player:  Sheepy  ID: blah blah  Mail:  blah blah
Player:  Jamoe ID: blah blah  Mail:  blah blah

Minimum effort, maximum reward.

Dear dMw

We are aware that you have played 500 matches in ED, that you have never been black flagged and that you have a multi-gaming community with over 300 active members regularly contributing to your well-moderated forum. We are also aware that your ED roster is kept current and that you actively ensure that no mercs are allowed to represent dMw in any match. We are very impressed with your availability/results/stats website and like the way that it is made available for anyone to view.

However, could you please explain why you do not have a simple crappy webpage for our elite admin team to speed-read your clans potential as decent gamers?

Please try to get your act together soon, or else.

Yours Ridiculously

Well we can probably sort this as JB suggested, but it is hoop-jumping and stupid as they already have the info they need.  At least on *our* webpage we can code the darn things to avoid plain text - and we can make up a unique dmw email addie for everyone that can be filtered direct to the spam trap for use on the ED requirements page.  Like Blunt, I want to be available for occassional matches (as does Bastet actually) so I guess when the list is put together I'll add us and then set up the email addies for everyone on the list.  I'll use the format edrequirement-name@deadmen.co.uk or something similar.  Shouldn't take too long to sort.
