QuoteHi there, this notification is meant to inform you of some significant changes regarding the way we're handling UI addons. Over the last few years, we've seen a number of awesome, gameplay-enhancing UI mods along with a fair number of UI mods that run counter to our philosophies regarding what addons should and shouldn't be able to do.

Essentially, we don't want UI mods to make combat-sensitive decisions for players and as such, we've made some changes that block functionality that we feel is counter to the spirit of these philosophies. As such, addons and macros will no longer be capable of casting spells or targeting units.

That being said, our programmers have implemented a host of new functionality in order to allow many popular and benign UI mods to continue to function (once those mods are updated to take advantage of the new functionality), and will be providing some follow-up information on these forums as to how to take advantage of the new functionality.

although this will apply to ppl who do not buy BC.

That sounds kinda naff to me. Admittedly, I don't like using mods like decursive, where it automatically selects a target and the required spell to cast on them (if I understand the use of it correctly), but I do use a simple mod that means if I select a character and run a macro that is set to call a specific heal spell type via this script it chooses the correct level of that spell to cast to minimise mana wastage. I'm not doing mental arithmetic on the fly to work that out, and if I use my highest level heal spell all the time i'll be out of mana in no time. Alternatively if I wait until they can actually make use of my highest level heal spell, then anything apart from tanks only need 1 crit and they're dead before my heal finishes casting...

Such a mod which adjusts the healing ranks to the health lost sounds very handy Carrot, would you mind telling what the mod is called or even giving me a link? Could come in handy during MC/ZG and such

Youll find the true use of decursive in the chromagnus fight where a good 40 ppl get several dozen debuffs over a 20 min fight. you really dont want to do that by hand...

This is the one I use:

Dead easy. One thing it won't do is choose which of your healing spells to cast, but that would kinda take all the fun out of it. I only use it because it's better than using mental arithmetic to work out which is the ideal spell to use. Works for all the healing classes, and if you install BonusScanner too (bundled), it takes into account item bonuses. I use it on my Shammy and my Pally.

One bug I have found, that is only relevant if you are levelling the char rather than already at 60: when you level up and buy a new rank of any healing spell you will need to logout and log back in, possibly after changing the macro that calls ManaSaver to take into account this new rank, before it will work properly again. I discovered that if I bought a new heal spell rank it got really confused, and started doing stuff like casting a lvl 3 spell when I needed a lvl 8, or even trying to do something totally other like cast a heal spell on the mob I was targeting and thus just spam an invalid target message to the console, or cast purge poison instead of heal .
