The Molten Core speed run is to be held on Sunday 29th October 2006, invites at 19.15 for those approved to raid that night.
To confirm your interest in this record-breaking clearance (we aim to break the current 2 hours 36 minute Guild record and push under 2 hours) please sign up with your MAIN on the sign up site.
Approval for the raid will not be granted based on when you sign up - it will be based on those who in the opinion of the Field Marshalls offer the best combination of ability and gear to help the raid push under the 2 hour mark. As the raid will be moving VERY quickly we will not be carrying any slackers, AFKers or DCers - everyone will have to pull their weight!
Those approved to raid will be given a list of items (pots and buff mats etc) in advance which they will need to bring along with them to the raid.

Just talked with Dell today, and they have managed to loose that request for a repair I sent in last Wednesday :ranting2:
I sent in a new one today, but I doubt I'll get my laptop back in time for this event. However, this is something I've been wanting to participate in since it first was mentioned, so I'll try to bribe my flatmate to let me borrow his laptop once more on that day :)

Maybe someone need to add to the raid the 29th october on the signup site, that is a speed run attempt. Can see some alt signing up
Alts can sign up, but I guarantee they will not be approved. We're going for a high spec raid and a 'perfect' class balance for this run.
All those interested sign up now - and if you signed up on the 29th with an alt then go cancel your sign up and sign up with your main instead!

This raid is about setting some standards, and showing what you can accomplish when you have a whole Raid Group of dedicated people
Therefore we need as many good geared people as possible so we can set a superb raid time for completing this instance, and i really hope all RG1 will support that
We should be also be able to get Ragnaros down before the sons spawn if we get enough good geared people

World record is around 1 hour 10 minutes i think, so 1,5 should be doable. We need to take 2-3 grps at the time tho, and tank bosses where we normally dont tank them. Thats the only way to get down under 2 hours

Well all i can say is this. All DPS ppl must go full out DPS for the entire run. No slacking off at all. Then it will go fast.

i am guessing you want about 10-12 healers instead of the usual 14-17

The sign up site is now working again but as the original raid posted corrupted (or was lost) it may have lost some of the early sign ups - please go back to the site and check that you are signed up.

Just a small comment - I made a note on the sign-up site, but I wasn't able to modify that:
I now have a promise from my flatmate that I'll be able to borrow his laptop next Sunday, so you definitely count on me for the speed run, if I'm found worth of a spot :)
I'll also borrow it for some hours during the week, so that I get to stock up on all the pots and other stuff I need to have ready for the raid.
The sign up site for the MC speed run (the AQ/ZG sign up site) has now approved 29 people to raid. There are currently no more places available for:
Priests
Rogues
Warriors
However there are still 11 places left and for the remaining classes I would urge all RG1 & RG2 members to sign up so that we can select the best possible team for the speed run record attempt.
Please do so NOW by going to the ZG/AQ sign up site and signing up for the MC raid on 29th October.

PLEASE make sure you do everything you possibly can to max your DPS for this run. Check the Speed Run preparation thread and try to obtian as many of the lotions, potions, elixirs, oils and buffs as you can. Let's make this one mother of a speed run!
