Title: applications and loot system
Post by: lunares on November 03, 2006, 10:55:20 AM
We need to discuss applications again together with a look at the loot system we have atm and we want to do with it.
If ppl can be there can this be done tonight. Seeing the overwhelming signup at the site for farming i dont think that will work so will have the time (if we do get a group we have commanders channel).

This still needs to be discussed and asap. Also we need to think about AQ and attendance and come to a solution or a proposal to a solution. We can not afford to w8 much longer cause the list of to do things grows.
I will not be there tonight but i am avaiable in the afternoon if needed. And plz do not w8 before a raid cause then it will NOT be discussed properly.

Wa son this pm but did not see Luna or sufficient others.  Will be there from mid/late afternoon and I agree with Luna it needs to be started well before the raid or we will not have time to complete.

Applications sorted for now, loot chat and some other stuff still pending, due to lack of officers online.

We need to get a TS meeting sorted for this to discuss and agree how to proceed loot wise as the current loot trial finished today and as of tomorrow we are back to pure DKP.  We need to have this meeting fast to announce our intentions for Thursday and onwards.  Tomorrow night anyone?

I will not be able to attend this meeting as the only connection I have been able to get so far is by going to the university's study hall. I don't think they would take verry well to chatting in here :eyebrow:

Anyways, you probably al know my position on the loot system. I support the 'DKP is final' system.

I would quite like you to be at the discussion Vargen, you have a view and it is important that we discuss all options.  Is it worth holding this TS chat the moment you get back?

In the mean time I will post to announce the end of the trial loot system and that we are now discussing feedback and will then announce a more permanent solution.

Well, I don't know how many in here support my view on the matter, but I would ofcourse like my side to be heard. I can type out my main points in this thread if you like, but I would like to attend the meeting myself. I know at least that I am not the only one that has expressed my dissapproval of this loot system on the public forum, and I would also like those to be heard.

My main concern is that the priority system is really more fit for a fixed raid group with hard aim towards MAX progress possible. With no room for off specs or 'grind' specs. I don't think I would characterize either of our raidgroups under this category. We do allow for hybrid builds and I at least want people to feel they CAN get what they want, rather then forcivly say they cannot. I think telling people what they can and cannot do works more demotivating than anything else. Granted there are only a few people in RG1 at least activly going for off spec gear; Luthor, Secohan, Xyco, Soupastar and myself to name a few. There are also a lot of others that want stuff, but usually add the '...if no rogue/warrior/mage wants it' when they whisper for stuff. Keep in mind though that we have had a lot of newcomers to RG1 lately, and people like me and others that have all their 'class gear' from BWL might allready have passed a lot of their 'offscpec gear' a few times allready. The priority system really screws them over and really just sends the message that all your DKP and time spent aren't worth anything. I think most people would find it demotivating to have a lootsystem in place taht basicaly tels you to L2P your class.

Summing it up; the downsides to the priority system

Well let's aim the discussion for when you return.  When are you back, we can try to fix a day and time immediately you return.

Even so if we have enough members online tonight we can discuss other topics which need to be spoken off also. Like a small part of working out things we discussed the last meeting (about the organisation structure).

Happy to do that Luna, but I think the loot discussion will need to be a single agenda item meeting.

There wasnt anyone online yesterday (well not enough).
So ppl gather friday then cause we need to discuss all the topics mentioned in the last meetin anyway so we might as well start (personally i think we need to get the specific rolls and who does what sorted soonish so we can conitnue on that basis.
