Sorry I seem to have missed the rules changes that were implimented tonight.
It seems that we don't change teams anymore when we go 7-2 up, to balance the game and we don't change sides when the map changes electing always to play the easy team.
Could someone update me as to why we've changed the rules?
:x :x :x
The rules haven't changed but, as always, it will depend on several things:
1. Did anybody notice the score? (I frequently forget to check it if I'm having a fun game)
2. Did anybody point out the imbalance and ask for the teams to be evened?
3. Were there any dMw peeps there? (they should take the initiative) but if not I would hope that any of the MeatHook regulars (you're one BTW :-)) would have prompted the change?
4. Occasionally, it is not prudent to swap teams (if you know that either people are about to join or that some of the people on the overmanned team are about to leave).
I was on earlier and I know that both Albert and myself purposefully swapped teams tonight to balance the sides (although the team i leave usually benefits more from me leaving than the other team does from me joining  )
HTH?
Was it when we had a full server????
If not, a comment on the teams is not out of order but its a fine balance between getting the teams even and spoiling the game with totaly disproportionate sides and it somtimes goes wrong
I dont know any players that will not change on request..but a quick reminder is not a bad thing
It was obvioulsy a bad night and I'll look forward to the usual top quality fun tomorrow.....plus I teh rok'd on Aztec (as they say)
Also it was me that didn't change sides...I was a T on Rio and stayed T on Aztec :!: I get confused sometimes as to what team I am actually on
were there many names you did not recognise? I've noticed a steady fall in quality as the newbies arrive.... hence the issue of controlling access and ensuring only peeps signed up can get on as opposed to people just passing the password round willy-nilly.
I did notice a few names I didnt know coming on and simply joining the easy team. A couple of people who should know better (not dMw I might add, but they did have other clan tags) were doing this and it does piss me off.
In fairness Aztec and Dust 2 were very uneven at points last night but it was redressed as time wore on. We were dominating as Ts on dust 2 at the beginning, but towards the end we were annihalated every round (mainly my bad calls  )
Hey Smiley - I thought you stayed as T from Rio to Aztec just so you could shoot at me rather than with me :?: Vindictive b#st*rd that you are
Intercept started unbalanced, but with the help of TL turned out ok after some early confusion.
I think it's the duty of the losing team to request help from the opposing team. Some diligent people will balance automatically but there's absolutely no point in suffering in silence. I often request changes when losing heavily and never have a shortage of takers.

Everyone who plays on the servers should play by the PCS rules and ethics. As far as I see that means everyone is as responsible as each other for team balancing, not just the loosing side. If a player is the first killed on a team that is several rounds ahead then they have just as much responsibilty for swapping as a member on the loosing team does for asking. Ideally no one should want to be playing a map where they were 7-2 up in the first place.
So err that means you're wrong. So there.
There does seem to be a lotta n00bs on the server recently, any form of quality control???? :D :D
Yep, we're gonna boot anyone who has a weener woodie... 8O
/redneck mode off
Seriously folks, we were all new here once. The PCS community grows and evolves over time, people depart, people discover us for the first time, people get banned, life goes on.
If people can't integrate themselves properly into the PCS community then they will be asked to leave (or ejected :D ). But it is OUR responsibility to make sure that the spirit of PCS is adhered to on the server. You can help this by:
- Joining the losing side when you first get onto the server.
- Switching from T to CT and back again through the map rotation (we have tried to set it up so that you get a fair balance of defending/attacking)
- Switching to the other side quickly when asked to do so by an Admin.
- Switching yourself if there are no Admins on the server and gameplay is being hindered.
But the main thing to remember is to enjoy it. :D

Lovely idea, but we've all had to educate people on the server from time to time, and no one has a problem with this as far as I can see. It's only the persistent offenders who are the true problem.
Sorry, but if you're prepared to suffer in silence then more fool you.
As people have said in this thread, sometimes players get carried away and forget to balance when the adrenaline and bullets are flowing. Even the scores can be overlooked from time to time in the heat of the moment.
If this is happening then pull the teams up and address the problem, don't whine and bitch after the event.
This is a problem that you have the power to prevent. If someone ignores your request for a balance without just cause only then should you post here.
Not once did you personally ask for a balance that evening so you've got no one to blame but yourself
Err, there, so you're wrong

Recommended Best Practice
(1) When you join the game for the first time, take a while to examine the teams, team members and scores in the context of the map to see which side needs your help. Join the team that needs your help even if it is not your preferred side for 'that' map.
(2) When a map changes, alternate between T & CT each time - most other players do this. You'll get to know your team mates better over a period of maps, not just a few rounds. You also get to understand the firing lines on the maps better if you play them from both sides.
(3) Keep an eye on the score. If, as described in the California Penal Code, you see a 220 in progress (Assault with intent to mayhem/rape/sodomy/oral copulation) then you should talk to your team members about changing sides to rebalance the teams. Sometimes it just needs 1 player from each side to swop, other times you'll need to play 7 against 4 to make it equal.
Good gameplay is what it is all about. Let's keep it that way!

I refer you to the above quote (specifically point 3) which makes no reference to being on a specific side and suggests that ALL players keep an eye on the score and act accordingly. Anyone who is happy to sit on a highly unbalanced team and make no effort to balance those teams has no place on a PCS server. The honourable and decent thing would be to offer to swap sides if you find yourself sitting at the top of the table, on a team that is well ahead. Ignorantly squatting there racking up the kills is a poor attitude to take. Offering to swap sides, as happened several times tonight, shows a maturity of character and a genuine adoption of PCS play. So I suggest this conversation is indeed ended.
Making up PCS rules as you go along is arguably out of order as is taking a rude an insulting attitude on this forum. I think someone needs to grow up a bit.
Smilo - you were right to mention the problem, it helps keep us all aware of the goings on in our PCS community so that we can be proactive in maintaining the quality of our gaming experience.
Chimp - rarely are matters that black & white, so a little more RGB wouldn't go amiss. Sarchasm is a dangerous weapon - it has razor sharp edges on both the pointy bit you were jabbing Smilo with and also the handle you were holding. Be careful not to cut yourself too bad whilst you're carving up others, ok?

It is indeed. Thread closed.
