Title: Twin Emperors - next reset
Post by: TeaLeaf on November 06, 2006, 08:49:42 AM
We had some fairly good goes at the Twins last night and improved our 'best' (if you can call it that) to Vek'nilash to 82%.  We did this in an 'unbuffed' way with pretty much just normal raid buffs.  We know the difference that being fully buffed makes to the attempts - we saw for ourselves the speed difference it made in MC a week or so ago - and we would like our next evening on the Twins to be a little more buffed than we were last night.

We'll post a list of things we would like to see raiders carry with them at next week's Twins raid.  We're not talking about 100G's worth of stuff, but maybe just spending some prep time farming an appropriate mana/sta/ buff etc.  Mana oils need to be present more often in our raids, as do brilliant wizard oils, elemental sharpening stones etc.  Let's do our best to get as buffed as possible for next week so that 82% becomes a hell of a lot less.

Good idea.

Just to point out something I noticed about Lor last night regarding DPS. If you cast more than one damage spell on him with the tank tanking him, he doesn't like that very much, however if you cast just 1 highpower (shadowbolt etc) spell per teleport u get very little aggro.

Would be interesting to see if all the casters cast only 1 Spell per teleport, in between killing bugs, how much faster the twns Hp would go down.

And perhaps try to form the raid so we get the best geared ppl to do it, it makes a big difference! They will go down:boxing:

Agree, No offence to Dwarde and Preisty for example, and I know we didn't had alternatives, but those guys aren't really best geared. Same with some others, get the best in for such encounters if possible.

If it makes people feel closer, as we were doing the twins danu were there too and the percentages they were at (as I was talking to dalto) were 77%, then 22% then 7% then down, our best so far is 82%, so assuming we can be as good or better :D 3 or 4 more tries should do it. Once the routine is there and stable we'll walk over 'em.

We need to get the best gear/experience in the raid, some good, not necessarily insane world buffs.

I will add that another BWL run will serve to improve gear as required, but if people think we can really get  em as we are then go for it i'll be there

The Twins will go down soon. All we need now is a full raid group with our best raiders. And that we don't get unlucky and get 5-6 healers down cause of them standing too close to the bugs that blow up.

About BWL we need to do it every week. A raid schedule could be like this, and would give us more time on the twins. But it requiers that ppl show up and don't skip the raids because of whiping days.

We use about 3 hours now in BWL. So i see this scheduale.

Thursday BWL 1915 - 2215 requiers us to pull at 1915 so ppl show up and be ready at 1905.
Thursday AQ40 Pull at 2230-2400 Clear first 2 bosses in AQ40
Sunday AQ40 1915-2115 Clear all the way to twins
Sunday AQ40 2115-2400 Clearing trash and getting 2-4 attempts on twins
Tuesday AQ40 1915-2400 Clearing trash and getting 8-12 atempts on twins

This is so doable, if ppl show up and comitt to it. As now wee have to many  new ppl in RG1 that need BWL loot before we can cut BWL out for a few weeks to progress in AQ40. So ppl need more gear, and learn to play with the players as well.

So let's unite and have fun in BWL and AQ40. And if u need anything from MC, sign up on the wendsday night MC SoG One raids.

I suggested in lock chat making 2 or 3 groups of caster dps!

For example

Group 1 - 3 locks 2 mages go do 1 spell each on caster emp
Group 2 - 3 Mages 2 Locks Do bugs while grp 1 does a spell
Grp 1 - Now swaps and does bugs
Grp 2 - Does a spell

Rinse and repeat and in theory might take there healing down a bit while containing the bugs?

Just a suggestion

I dont know if it was what DEmon meant, but swapping 2 and 2 grps of casters( if it is that much) for agro reduction migth be a kickass idea.

Group 1: Cast  for 40 secs(more or less, Officers or the ones with experience inthe fight judge the fight)Or as until X waves of bugs got killed-
Group 2: Kill bugs for X seconds or X waves of bugs.

Switch, rinse repeat.

Yeah well the example i used for just a guide, but thats the suggestion i was trying to get a cross, have a rotation going between dps to keep it low.

Especially for a few people! coughs kreuz, JT, Ash + a few others!

While still maintaining bug killing groups.

Using 2 groups was only a guess, could make mage group lock group etc.

Quote from: Twins TacticsAs far as the Blizzard goes if it should hit you, try to get out of it as soon as possible, Frost protection potions are handy here, absorbing more damage than a heal pot and allowing you to bandage.
Worth a try.  Certainly all healers should bring some along and I would suggest everyone.  Teaell can make them as can most other  alchemists if you want them made up.

Although each Twin has seperate health they are linked, so if one of the emperors die, both die.  So you need to decide if you are going to blow a wad of mana on killing Vek'lor or melee on Vek'nilash.  Either way, the healers only want to heal one group not both melee & caster DPS.  The reason we tend not to DPS Vek'lor is because (as has been mentioned) the aggro is much more difficult to control.  As we use even less aggro on Vek'lor by letting a warrior tank him after the initial lock pull then we are even more sensitive to caster aggro.  For the moment the suggestion is for casters to focus on the bugs and let the melee take Vek'nilash down.

I don't know if that tanks had any greater arcane protection pots but having some will help them immensly if they get caught in an arcane explosion after the teleport.

Also cheap and cheerful 'gift of arathas' pot will give them +10 SR for a few silver.
