abit nf7-s v1.2 , jiuhb xp 1700 (1.43ghz)chip , leadtek gf4 ti4400 ,
512mb corsair xms pc3200 400mhz fsb
took a while to sort but its running stable @ 2.300 ghz (164fsbx14 multiplier any higher and 3dmark wont run stable) @ 49.5 degrees c also over clocked the gf4 to 300/600. have just run 3dmark 2001se and got the whopping great score of 12196
si-soft sandra clocked it as a 2.3 ghz amd athlon with a pr rating of 3054
very important
if using corsair memory in this board and it doesnt work. put in some other memory (anything ddr will do) and get to the desk top goto abit main website and get the bios flash for your mobo. make a bootable floppy and then extract the bios flash files onto the same floppy. boot from disk you just made and at prompt type runme follow the prompts and all will be sorted when its rebooted and reset the cmos shut down and replace the memory with said corsair memory. boot up go into softmenu and then overclock till your hearts desire.
2 last jobs im gonna re-seat the processor and use artic 3 that should lose a couple of degrees ive used coolermaster premium thermal compound kit and it is steady under load @ 49.5-50.5c
then its tidy up the cables and crap time
nice one. dunno if its just me but it seems my MSI KT4 ULTRA motherboard cant change the multiplier on my 2200+ CPU. Which is an TANGO for overclocking.
Seems a motherboard needs to support a 5bit multiplier if you want to change the multiplier without having to hack up your CPU.
I dont think your tryin hard enough FatBob. With that Vid card and my old XP2100 and KT333 setup my best 3dmark was 14285. More effort required please. :)
Why is it something as simple as logging in seems to confound me?? Mebbe Ill just change my nick to Guest.
 weee, welcome back lionheart :D Long time no see....
Keep looking back cos there will be on or two more nice o/c's being posted up real soon :D

You don't need to flash the bios to solve the problem - see the Corsair forums, but a flash will sort it. The next release of the bios will solve the problem.
My o/c will be a week or so yet, but it will be coming soon :smokin:

Mine won't be before the LAN :( I've got to pass two more exams in the next 4 weeks, my personal goal to continuing employment marketability. Plus by then hopefully my missus will have a new job, I'm footing the bill for everything just now, and saving for a wedding. (Yes, I is mad) :silly:
But my current system should see me through these troubled times

In the darkness nights, with your deepest fears, just beyond your sight, in the shadows of your soul, I'll be there.
With the comedy nose and Simpsons tie.
warning to you overclockers. If you find you just cant reach that magic target cos of crashes or down right refusal to "POST".
Check that POS PSU humming like a distressed bee in the top of your case. Chances are its that POS thats holding you back.
I'd just like a PC that works really. Spent 3 TANGOin weeks tryin to sort my new one!!!!!   :x :x

The mobo goes up to 1.85v I think, which is quite an overvolt on a 1.5v cpu. A lot of the voltage mods Ive seen require soldering or some such wizardry and I aint putting a hot pointy thing near my mobo, I can feck it up quite nicely with my bare hands fanx.
Seriously, more volts = more heat, and unless you go special on the cooling the average rig won't hack it.
And now Ive just read ur thread about the pencil trick. Doh!
I did a similar thing on my Radeon and although successful, it werent that good cos the graphite dries and cracks in time. You could use metal paint i spose but we're back to the dangerous things + mobo + me = empty wallet.
