Dear fellow SOGers
As many of you might have noticed, since I returned after that incident with my graphics card on my laptop (was unable to play for over a month), my attendance haven't returned to the levels it used to be, nor the levels I want it to be. This has a couple of reasons, and I'll try to give you a good explanation for this, and also why I've come to this decision.
Firstly, during that month I was unable to play WoW, I found myself with quite much more spare time than I normally have. At first, it felt a bit strange, cause I've been raiding full time for more than a year now, but it also gave me time to spend on some stuff that I found out I've actually been missing a bit.
I moved away from home this autumn, leaving college and starting university. Here in Trondheim where I reside now, the amount of social events and happenings are far greater than what it was back home. In addition I've also taken up again underwater rugby practice (which I've had a break from since January), which prevent me from raiding Tuesdays.
I had a small hope for some time, that I would be able to continue raiding, even though my attendance would be a slight bit under what is required, but alas, I see now that it is not possible.
The exam period for this semester is closing up fast, and the amount of work and study required here at the university is quite much more than what I had back on college. This will make it hard for me to guarantee a steady attendance for the two remaining days I have available for raiding, and I feel it wouldn't be fair of me to hold on to my Guardian position under these circumstances.
I've had a dialog with the Officers, and I've asked them to change my membership to Soldier. However, I will strive to be online for as many raids as possible as long as the Officers desire to, or they have found a replacement for me, so I assume the demote won't happen instantly.
I also would lie if I didn't add that I would love to see the Twins dead, and also get the chance to wipe once or two at C'Thun before I'm finally stepping down.
I could also add that I won't stop playing, it'll only be a bit less than it used to be. I might focus a bit more on leveling my mage alt (would like to get that to lvl60 before TBC), but I will also try to join in on some guild runs to ZG/AQ20/MC/whatever if I get the time for it.
It is also hard to predict how things are gonna be when TBC (which I'm of course gonna buy) hits the shelves, so it might very well be that Threbrilith will return to raiding.
My time as a raiding member of SOG has given me some of the best moments I've had in this game, together with the best people I could wish for, making it something I'm gonna miss deeply!
This post has neither been fun nor easy to write, but I am confident that it's the right decision for me at this time.
See you all in-game!
Sincerely yours
Bob
/salute

Thanks for the kind words all, even though it makes quitting even harder
For you that wondered, you can read a bit about underwater rugby here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underwater_rugby).
@Sheepy: I will definetly try to make it to the lan in April - especially since I have the dMw Helping Hand Award which needs to be returned :)
Only thing is that it might be a bit too close to next semesters exams, but that I don't know yet - will have to wait til after New Year to find out.
Do you need to wear such sexy dress's?? :withstupid:
