As decided on the latest meeting I as to post a something about Progress DKP.
This is what ive found to possibly work, look it over and post you comments.

1 Hour(Progress)    = 5 DKP
1 Hour(Farm)        = 1 DKP

Boss(Progress/Wipe)    = 10 DKP
Boss(first kill)     = 50 DKP, maybe less, but not less than 25 DKP.
Boss(farm)        = 10 DKP, or less.

If we award DKP for the wipes that occur during a progress night ppl will feel they get more out of it.

Item prices stay the same to counter the inflation that is common in any economy,
and makes the player work harder for each item thus wont take item more fit for another class.

i asume you did the math against current system to make sure that it doesnt hugely inflate the system beyond now? (as in earning 2/3/4/5 times the dkp?)

No i was thinking of the new systems that we will need in TBC,
but the values can easily be adjusted to fit our current systems  if we want to implement it this week.

As long as it doesn't mess up the inflation of the system we currently have and is correct according to what I've been setting up, I'm ok with it.


I think it would be great to use it as a system for the Burning Crusade raiding.

I dont know what impact it has on inflation, but it seems like a good system, as for progress nights get full bonus... As we allready discussed on TS, i think this will help both RG1 and RG2....

My ramblings on this:

Current RG1 DKP Accrual (estimated)
(ignores random epics)

Thursday: BWL Clearance
Att 2 (1 x 2)
Hourly 6 (3 x 2)
Bosses 210 ((25 x 7) + (35 x 1))
Total = 217 plus is a profitable raid (ie members make gold)

Sunday: AQ40 through to and inc Twins
Att 2 (1 x 2)
Hourly 8 (4 x 2)
Bosses 130 ((25 x 4) + (30 x 1))
Total = 140 plus members do not lose gold

Tuesday: AQ40 C'Thun
Att 2 (1 x 2)
Hourly 8 (4 x 2)
Bosses Nil (or 35 x 1 if we get him down)
Total = 10 plus members lose 60G or so in pots

Total Current DKP Accrual for Week: 367

Proposed RG1 DKP Accrual (estimated)
ignores random epics and assumes:
1 Hour(Progress) = 5 DKP
1 Hour(Farm) = 1 DKP
Boss(Progress/Wipe) = 10 DKP
Boss(first kill) = 50 DKP, maybe less, but not less than 25 DKP.
Boss(farm) = 10 DKP, or less.
Attendance remains as is
Missing info:  Progress Boss (ie one not yet awarded 'farm' status.  E.g. Twins is not first kill and it is not yet farm either.  I would propose a progress boss kill, an interim award, not as much as first kill and more than farm.  FMs or Marshalls can elect when a boss is on Farm, but may not keep it on farm beyond it's 5th kill (i.e. kill number 6 is boss farm DKP even if you are still struggling with it).

Thursday: BWL Clearance

Total = 102 plus members lose 60G or so in pots

Total Current DKP Accrual for Week: 251

RG1 Conclusion
This proposal would remove some inflation from the DKP system and slow down the rate at which we earn DKP.
It provides a better balance between the raid efforts put in on each night.
Still needs a 'progress boss' event to be added.  Based on these numbers I would suggest 20 DKP per 'progress boss'.  This would add 10 DKP to the Tuesday run for Twins (I consider all prior bosses to be on farm for RG1) and make the balance between a BWL and an AQ40 night even better.  

Overall:  I like it and it is better than what we currently use - it is also MUCH fairer and better rewards those who put the effort into the expensive and hard 'progress' nights.

Someone ought to do the math for RG2 and remember to include the Onyxia DKP etc.

But isn't the math much different then that since BWL and AQ40 are 2 different DKP systems now?

I used the math from the individual sites so the quantum is right, the proposed system changes the 140 (farm) & 10 (progress) on the two AQ nights to 64 & 102 respectively.  This balance is much better.  The overall DKP for the two systems is about as close as you can get when changing something like this: current system gives about 150 AQ DKP and the proposed gives about 166 AQ DKP.  Not much of a difference really imo given that TBC is around the corner, but those extra DKP points might just make all the difference between us clearing AQ40 and several Naxx bosses before TBC and not doing anythign at all.

for 1 mo of raiding, is it worth the hassle to rebuild the entire system from the ground up?

This is far from rebuilding the entire system. All we have to do is add some events and use them instead of the old ones.
 
But I only think this is worth doing for AQ40 DKP.

If we only do it for AQ40 then we do not remove the great incentive to farm DKP in BWL and skip the difficult raids.  Or is that not a perceived problem?
