No drivers among us then. Give it a try it gets better as you get into it.
Where do you drive monkey? When do you drive? How can I get a car like yours? These and many more question to be answered in the fullness of time

Have to earn the car by winning the race at 1 credit a win and its 180 credits.  Have you slept recently Monkey? I have played it but have yet to be able to win against the learners, newbies i can just about do. Havnt gone online yet need to get Gandy to open the port on the router. (me thinks multiple annoying phonecalls should do it) Still have an unneccesary attraction to the tyre barriers though.  :?

I seem to be able to drive like mister bean.

I've opened up a port on my router so...Bring it on!

hint: to build up credits fast, set it to "PRO" and then race/win online. You still get points for online wins, and I've got 32+ points in one race happily.

The car skins are found in the data/skins folder. Nor over at bygames is collecting peoples custom skins to release in one big download. They started up a LFS forum even :D
http://www.bygames.com/community/forums/Fo...sp?forum_id=198 (http://www.bygames.com/community/forums/ForumTopicList.jsp?forum_id=198)

Us [dg] lot were taking to running a server ourselves and bygames are running a server for it. We normally organise to find people to play in irc (#downgraded and #byracing on quakenet) and starting up your own server is real easy :)

The skins are done from jpg files found in the data/skins directory. maximum size is 1024x1024 I think, but the 640x640 skins look pretty enough :D

you can d/l my skins here:
turbo http://www.jamena.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ima...TURBO_DG_SM.jpg (http://www.jamena.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/XRTURBO_DG_SM.jpg)

and if you find me untrustworthy, you can preview them here:

 yup, its another one...

the 4 skins can be downloaded here:
MG 2002 skin http://www.jamena.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ima...RT_DG_SM_MG.jpg (http://www.jamena.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/XRT_DG_SM_MG.jpg)
red+yellow flames skin http://www.jamena.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ima...TURBO_DG_SM.jpg (http://www.jamena.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/XRTURBO_DG_SM.jpg)
black+white flames skin http://www.jamena.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ima...es/XR_DG_SM.jpg (http://www.jamena.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/XR_DG_SM.jpg)
GTI skin http://www.jamena.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ima...XFGTI_DG_SM.jpg (http://www.jamena.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/XFGTI_DG_SM.jpg)

although they all seem to have my name on them somewhere, the MG and XR skins are the least intrusive on you ;)

N.B. remember you can resize the skins on your local machine if you want the MG texture to be512x512 instead of 1024x1024 (for example)

up to patch 2D4 now. btw, the cheat way to get credits: change track to the skid pan, add ai drivers, set to PRO mode and make the race about 6 laps. the AI drivers have no path to follow so they dont move. You just drive in a circle...

The gti's are the most fun to race anyway, especially for those using keyboard controls...

the rwd car is almost exactly the same as the gti in terms of lap times I find, although the gti actually wins in most cases :) Maybe slightly faster and better at braking, but not as stable. The turbo is insane :D

my current pb in the GTI is a 1:38.15 or thereabouts although normal laps are around 1:40.xx (and I've seen someone do a 1:35.xx 8O )
