Option 3: o, I will NOT buy TBC

To help the officers plan for TBC, we would like to know, what you, the members plan to do when it goes live. Please from this poll pick the option that you think works for you best.
Based on outcome of this poll, more information about how SOG will continue raiding in TBC will be posted later on.
This poll will close on 1th of Jan, PLEASE vote before that.
Just to put a spanner in the works, when you talk about raiding, is this after reaching 70? Or on the way 60->70 as well? Obviously if all the raid instances turn out to be lvl 70 only then it's not a problem, but from your other post about TBC it would seem the officers don't yet know if there are raid instances 60->70, and I guess if there are then quite a lot of people would like a 'will buy TBC and stop raiding *until* 70, at which point I will start raiding again' option.
Well, its mainly for the long run, to help us to see how many groups we need, and possible class balance.
Just to make clear though, we do not plan to stop raiding over the leveling period, we will find something to kill :woot2:
For me, this vote has atm to go towards buying, but not wanting to raid. However, not wanting isn't quite right - it's just that I don't see a realistic possibility for that I'll have time to commit to raids.
Still want to though
I will buy TBC and continue raiding, but at this point I'm not completely sure what to do yet.
1. Play my priest as my first char to level 70, this is because I'm tbh pretty tired of beeing a warrior at the moment.
2. Continue playing my warrior.
3. Got an offer from a friend to start something completely new on a PvP server, hordeguild.
I will most likely go for point 1 if not someone else convinces me to continue with my warrior ;p
Stay on your warrior. Convinced? :P
I voted "I will buy TBC and WANT to raid".
i want too, BUT they gonna make some serieus changes to our school year, and it will cost alot of time, and early starts, so dunno if i can keep it up, but we'll say that later on :)
well look at it this way, we can clear bwl in what? 2hrs 30min? (rg1) and that was with a wipe or 2 @vael..
now imagine were lvl 62 or more, with improved abilities better armor/dps, welle prolly be able to do it in less than 1hr 30min...
so lets say we get 5g from each boss (sometimes its 7g..) and 8 bosses
so thats 40-56g without breaking a sweat, earning a little bit of xp, nexus crystals/bop items for the guild, and not to mention that we have Fun while raiding..
so, you wanna miss all that stuff for 1hr 30min or maybe a bit more?
Not gonna bother, I may do one day if I get bored, but at the moment, I wont be buying it.
While leveling there may not be any new raid-instances, only smaller 5-10 mans, i guess.. (not confident, but from what i've read...)
But the old 40-mans will still be here, and, I'm guessing, alot of ppl wouldn't mind taking a look at them once in a while, especially AQ40 & Naxx.
For me, that's a great opportunity to at least be able to say:
"Yup, done those..!"
And u will most likely get XP from them too, and have an advantage 'cause you're a couple of levels higher.
I don't really know how the "common" gear will look in TBC, but, again i'm guessing, gear from Naxx would help you out 'till you get the new raid-zone drops...?
Moonys defo buying it and still wants to raid as much as poss :D
Havent voted yet. as im not 100% sure... but...
its a raid instance you will get around 15 exp per mob kill.... thats nothing to mention really
what about naxx mobs, think they do a bit more x;p
Don't think so. They are same level, some are just harder then others.
well we said during leveling, not that we would do them to level, and if we will be raiding we'll probably only do Naxx cause that last BWL run RG1 had was horrible.
I'm probably going to shoot to Lv 70 fairly fast and then see if I can join RG1 or 2 (slots permitting) for TBC dungeons.
I'd like to at least take a run round MC, AQ, BWL & Nax though, and I assume that they will not be that hard for Lv 70's to work through. As I understand it none of the armour drops in the current Lv 60 raid stuff will match the world drop, quest items etc you can get at Lv 70. So I don't imagine I will grind for any Lv 60 armour sets. I assume they wil become obsolete as who would want to spend weeks/months raiding BWL for gear that they could have right away in TBC (assuming they buy the expansion)?
Therefore continuing to raid Lv 60 dungeons at Lv 70 seems an odd thing to do. I doubt there will be that much challenge. Would people who remain Lv 60 (i.e. don't buy the expansion) want a lot of Lv 70 players 'helping' them out in BWL etc? I would imagine it would take away from the fun of raiding?
But I wonder how many SOG members will not get the expansion and whether there will be enough left at Lv 60 to make up a 40 man raid group without bringing some Lv 70 players?
The current raid structure depends on there being many many Lv 60 players with nothing to do except raid and PvP. With the Level increase Lv 60 becomes the old Lv 50. And what did we do at Lv 50? A couple of runs through ST/Maraudon and then advance to Lv 60. So without players staying at Lv 60 for months, and why would they, the current end game raids seem to be obsolete?
Interesting times

Some 'blue' L62 quest rewards exceed the class L60 Tier 2.5 epic equivalent.
Re current L60 instances: I understand that they will have their player cap reduced. Although this could be vicious rumour, but I have not been lucky enough to get into the beta so know little about the actuality and rely on the rumour.
TL.
I won't rush to get to lvl 70, and i hope that i will get a xp or 2 while raiding with RG2. :)
Right now I just wanna see that new world and how the game will change after this major upgrade/addon.
The fun with the old lvl 60 instances will be to see how few ppl you can raid them with!
soloing onyixa anyone?
There are alot of items from Naxx that have verry high lvl. Like the legendary staff for casters. And most likely alot of the T3 items.
But it's gonna be interesting to see how the new items from TBC will be.

well, TF + sulfuras are rated as a lvl 80 weapons
Atiesh as lvl 90
the current leg. ashbringer as lvl 76
they will be surpassed by tbc legendaries, but for tbc blues to surpass current legendaries, well i think that would be somewhat stupid
and the idea that legendaries cant be upgraded is far more stupid than that
Current 40 man instances will not have thier player capped changed at the release of TBC, confirmed several times by Blizz.
Tan.
If you can do BWL or higher dungeons, you can go on raiding till level 62 or something.
If you can only do MC or below, don't bother. Some silly level 62 ooze green item is waaaaaay better than most MC items you'll ever get.
One of the first quests in Outland already can give you plate leggings way better than Might...maybe even better than Wrath (dps-wise).
The first 5-man dungeons is level 60-62, and my guess is, that a blue level 60 item there will be of equal quality of BWL epix now (yeah, items in TBC in Outland are insane).
AQ40 and Naxx gear/weaps are the only things that will remain usefull for a long time even in TBC.
I'm afraid I have no choise but to bore to death untill TBC comes out, then I'll see what I'm gonna do (warrior is a bitch to play in outland:angry: )
I have to admit I'm secretly hoping that TBC will indeed be a leveller regarding equipment. It will allow me to more or less become equal to the current RG1 players by the time we all reach Lv 70 (assuming most T3 stuff is weaker or compariable to Lv70 world drops.....big if?) Then all I will have to deal with, is being very very crap at raiding compared to all you RG1/2 fellows ;-)
But it must be a bit of a miserable time for anyone who has slaved away getting a full armour set in MC, BWL Nax etc only to find a berk like me can take a couple fo weeks off work, grind to Lv 70 and have better gear than their months of raiding at Lv60 got them. I'd be a bit upset to say the least. I'm not really sure a rise in the level cap was the right thing to do?
its blizzards way of saying, hey thanks for the effort but f**k you neways, now go level and waste your time again, untill the next expansion. oh and dont forget to keep paying us for the semi-crap servers we offer
(which will prolly be emrald dream(theres already some files in wow named emrald dream))
yeh, there will be atleast two more expantions, emerald dream and the maelstorm.
dont forget northrend / icecrown glacier (throne of the lich king Arthas Menethil)
yeh that one to, so that means we are looking at atleast 3 more years of WoW since Blizz have said they will release a new expantion pack every year from now,
and that you would need to have a raidgroup around lvl 90-100 to be able to kill Arthas, Race ya! :P
And who knows what places Blizz will think up (Twisting Nether), just to get more ppl into WoW and pay them for crappy servers and hackers (:ranting2: )
Emerald Dream is gonna be in this expansion if Im not mistaking....
Another Expansion is propably come...almost certain. I mean, come on, Northrend, fighting Arthas, you can't leave that out of the game now can ya? :P
However...the thought of waiting another 2 years...I don't know....current end game was already pretty f***ed up. And warrior nerfs didn't quite make the game more fun.
Ah well, it's still something for the future...let's get TBC first and see what happens.

blizz said nothing about that, afaik
I have made up my mind, I will not be a part of the SoG RG1 team when TBC comes out.
As a matter of fact, I won't be playing on Aszune at all.
Some friends of mine + some other random Norwegians made a hordeguild on a completely new server and i've been playing for a couple of days and I love it.
You all know the drill, thanks everyone for all you've ever done :) I've really enjoyed playing with you guys!
Will still be around, up to you if I stay in the guild or not but would love to be demoted to Soldier to hang around and chat a bit when I'm tired of leveling again.
Jorgen
Ok, thats the third warr thats "left" the guild. I know that jorgen dident leave, but soldier rank is the leaveing/joining state
well not exectly, its still a "full member" rank, but you dont have any raid attendance rules to follow
