Anyone else got it?
Anyone able to make the damned thing work?
Got it and it works fine except for a few (largeish) bugs
My largish bugs drops me to the desktop and generates a fatal graphics error.
Got it. Love it.
Played for 8 hours straight with no probs.. I'm not aware of any bugs so far.
NF
Bug free and brilliant for me. It's a monster of a game and I'm completely hooked. Killing Frenchies has never been so much fun. There is already a patch which is a bug fix. Might help?
HERE (http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/medieval2totalwar/download.html?sid=6163250)
Are you sure that's a patch? I checked the TW website and there's nothing there.. ?
Yep, you won't see it on the Total War site, you have to go look for it on the support pages at the Sega site HERE (http://sega-en.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/sega_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=763&p_created=1166106247&p_sid=Dc6DCtqi&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NSZwX3Byb2RzPTMsMTY2JnBfY2F0cz03NCZwX3B2PTIuMTY2JnBfY3Y9MS43NCZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1)
You can grab a copy of it from my site HERE (http://www.webfire.org.uk/files/MIITW_P_Update1_EN.zip) if you like
I have it fixed - the game dislikes a resolution higher than 1024 at least on my system.
It really is fun. My English heroes have set up a little 'mini England' / bloodbath, out in Edessa after a crusade went horribly wrong after I kicke the crap out the Scots. (Who incidently killed my king twice...)
Here (http://www.twcenter.net/) Is the best place for Total war news imo.
And even post patch there are 2 serious bugs.
1. Almost all doublehanded infantry can't hurt mounted units (Try a custom battle with 1 mounted units against as many english billmen as you feel like!)
2. The AI tends to just stop infront of your army while you pound it with missle troops, sometimes it even lets you run behind its line and charge its entire army from the rear!
Got it too and love it too..
Although the Pope says Im going to be kicked from the order if I don't stop slaughtering the Scots, french and danes (all 3 were allies untill they betrayed me - ******* sons the bunch of them).. So they are allowed to attack me and I can only defend if I wanna stay in the pope-club..
Had 1 cardinal so far and he got elected as Pope and now i only have priests getting killed by the inquistors..
But yea the bug with them stopping up I know of.. My own army does it too.. Run towards the enemy, brakes just before them and then starts running again :g:
I've been excommunicated for beating up the Scots :roflmao:

I didn't feel a thing :g::narnar:
Heh, heh, assassinated the Pope, that'll teach him to excommunicate me! Up the Protestant Reformation!
Fickle Church, I've now been forgiven and allwoed back in! Plus the Frenchies broke an alliance and declared war. After I butchered 250 of their men mounted and dismounted aristocracy a la Agincourt, by hiding 70 longbowmen in some trees, they're now not so keen :D

Meh.. My assassins usually miss.. I've had 2 successfull assassinations so far I believe.. noobs the bunch of them
The game is way too harsh on assassins. You nearly need to have three or four trained every turn in order to give them a chance of making it up to any standard for successful kills. Think the most I've ever had is four stars.
My assassin got the plague, just after I'd got him suitably elite! :(
On the plus side I now have the largest military forces in the game, so all the factions are hurriedly making alliances and treaties with me. Got to love the longbows! Only thing is this bloody plague won't go away! Grrr...
Is there anything you can do about it?
Its God punishing you for being a barbarian.. Go get holy and it'll go away.. or.. ehm.. I dunno.. Make a time-machine and get medicine from the future
assassins need training before you can kill anyone worthwhile.
Start with princesses, then captains (armies without real generals) then just have a look at your chance of killing each target.
Also try to come in from as far away as possible, inceaese your chances if the target cant see you comming.
Plague only stops once you completely clamp down on movement between commuinities. Move nothing. Everything must come to a stand still. Usually it means other forces will attack you.
Best way of getting rid of plague is to fill up your diseased city with a huge army then hit the campaign trail. You city will clear up in no time (it seems big garrisons cause the plague to hang around longer) and because it is plague ridden no-one will invade it.
With your plague army, you have nothing to lose, so waltz in and besiege their capital. I just took Paris :) (serves the Frogs right for refusing a ceasefire, especially after I'd just negotiated my way out of wars with all France's allies, so I could just concentrate on fighting them.)
Now, I'm off to try and assassinate as many Frenchies as possible, including King Louis the "Watchful". Well given that he just watches everything from somewhere near Spain I think that's fair!
Also been let back into Catholic club again by the Pope after being excomminicado again. Seems he realised having the largest army in Christendom against him didn't make much sense:doh:...
Now if only I have done some revision for my exams which start in a weeks time.....
Has anyone else noticed that the loading music is the same as the secondary titles screens music from the Rugby World Cup 2003 Official Review DVD?
I got TW2 too, great game, and, by looking at your comments, picked the English side too :D
Managed to pretty much override the French, and starting my quest to rule Spain. Problem is i run out of money every now and again due to the large spreed of my army (upkeep) but currently moving them to the front lines (so they can earn their keep!!)
When will they start making the ships do battle scenes and interactive like they do on land, rather than the moving Icon battle thingy
Make sure you sack the province / country you are taking. You need to keep some peasents and maximize your cash. If you have a big army you must keep attacking or you will run out of cash quickly.
Whenever one of my family members leave a city which isn't close to the front line, I usually put it on Financial, and let it make money by itself.. That was however before my brother pointed out that I could choose to run the city by myself, lol
