Title: Gmotd?
Post by: Bastet on January 01, 2007, 06:38:54 PM
Today i was suprised by the following GMOTD:

QuoteRG2 Will be raiding the 4th January if you cant make it post in the absence part on the forums.

As per draft/TBC idea topic, we agreed upon the following:

QuoteWe realize that currently not everyone is up for raiding anymore, hence we are going to extend the raid break to beyond TBC, and the point where we can venture into new and exciting instances. As some ppl still want to see BWL, and Naxx the FM's will organize sign up raids for those members still wanting to kill all the bosses of old before starting on the new ones.

Meaning that after the 4th, all raids will be sign up, and open for both raid groups. So i dont know who made the call that RG2 would raid again, but please stick to the decissions we made.

So basiclly RG1/RG2 are disbannd from now untill TBC comes out and maybe further on aswell (untill lvl 70).
If this is the reson why do we not tell the hole guild about it becuse i had the impression RG1 called all their raids until TBC comes out but that RG2 would be continue to try take Chromaggus/Nefarian down before TBC realese this is what i got before the christmas break was called.
So i havent heard anything about holding all raids untill TBC and that we should have voulenteer sign up raids instead of RG2 raids?.

Makeing BWL signup will allow RG2 people to kill Nef. im sure. There will be some RG1 in also. And we dont want to bring low geared alts inside BWL forsure, even if its signup. Thats how I understand the situation.

Sazgul is correct. And raids can be organized, as long ofc as they dont conflict with the speed run.

Rg2 raids are not called - this was agreed before christmas break, and we will continiue to raid until TBC. RG1 can feel free to tag along if we have free spots.

My recollection of the discussion held is that RG2 will carry on raiding but that RG1 will not - I recall the bit in the discussion about being able to call upon RG1 members to top up the RG2 raid.

Having said that, in approving the draft that Bastet posted we all missed that very clear paragraph where it states we are not raiding.  My excuse is that I read it from an RG1 point of view (RG1 had stopped raiding), but RG2 officers had the best chance to pick this up and comment and it emphasises why we need to pay more attention to this kind of thing - we all missed it his time.

Thought about this overnite, and if i misunderstood our agreement, then i am sorry.

Yet, if RG2 raids are normal, while i understand some of the members dont want to raid, and RG1 cant raid at all due to a large chunk of members leaving, then i have to wonder if it wouldnt be better to go to a full sign up system open to members from both groups, at least after TBC launch, to allow RG1 and 2 members to see the end of AQ and Naxx at least once.

Also, i would like to request of the RG2 officers to aid in the speed run, by beeing there, and signing up, instead of running thier own raid. This is a one time shot we get, lets not fail it cause of lack of members.
