Title: Battle Plan part 2: Preparing for TBC!
Post by: Bastet on January 09, 2007, 11:39:13 PM
After a discussion amongst the Field Marshals it has been agreed that following will happen after the guild maintenance of the 14th of Jan.

Since the raiding dungeons in TBC is mainly based on lvl 70 chars (as the info that is availible to us now suggests) and as it will take a while to get up to L70 with a group, the raidgroup ranks will be left vacant for the time being and everyone will be set at Soldier level initially.

After TBC and when the leveling is underway a poll will be made to allow ppl to voice their interest (and intended class) for raiding. There will probably be multiple polls for different raid systems (days/attendance req) and different raid sizes to match the different instance challenges. The details of these systems are still being discussed, and will hopefully be made public very soon.

As for the raiding and rules of the raids:

Sounds good, now i only need a lvl 70 shaman and i'm in :D

edit: What will happen with the DKP gathered in Naxx and mainly AQ? (since there are some incl me with over 1000dkp with 0-1 items received) will this be reseted or will we see a bit of it back?

I think all DKP will be reset.

It would be nice it some of it could be transferred - like RG1 did when going from MC/BWL-DKP til Naxx-dkp.
I cant remeber the exact procedure but it was something along the lines of 1/10'th of the dkp was transferred.

As someone who is very interested in raiding in TBC (never raided before) I would not be upset for existing RG1/2 people to keep some if not all their DKP.  Just as some sort of compensation for all the hard work and dedication you all put in before TBC.

My opinion in this is, the following might not be shared by the FM's.

- MC & BWL (keep)
-AQ40 & Naxx (keep)
-New instance (new)

-Ofc what is earned is earned. And common sense is allways nice to have.
New instances, hence noone has raided, weill ofc be 0 and needed to earn new DKP <--- common sense is allways allowed.

-Its a plea to all.. i know new items will come and be MUCH better than what we got now, but plz use common sense. fx. A Prot warrior shouldent whisper for dps items and the other way around. There will prop be the same probles between rogues and hunters as there allways has been. Some got great items others the other way around, but remember, everyone needs gear, just some will benefit a certain item more than others.

-roumors say that around T2 gear will last till lvl 66 and T3 till 70. (mob/gear lvl) New items will be above lvl 70.

But our knowledge about TBC = 0, we know what we have read and heard, rest is roumors. "A mouse can easily become an elefant". So lets take it easy, look what comes and just have a great time together :D

AH, that makes sense, i hadn't realised that DKP was kept separate for each instance.

Carry on, nothing to see here :byebye:

there might be a small % carry over, just to avoid all beeing at the same level of dkp, but dont count on starting with a 1000 dkp head start. But this is ofc pending how the groups will be set up, which is under discussion still.

Hmm.. I've never seen that.. I don't think it can actually be that easy :g:

But for the rest I agree :)

Make a calculation somewhere around

left over dkp * attendance percentage.

Yrthal has now 1490 DKP to spend, his attendance is 14% of ALL raids......

1490 x 0,14 = 208,6 = 209.

This goes for everybody. RG1 members did more raiding so there for a higher percentage......

Just my two cents.

Please dont speculate on a system of how to do this yet, it will be made public in due time. I might check on a scale of 1 to 10 of how much i like ppl and use that for a dkp scale :narnar:

Please guys, give the officers some time to work this out. At this time its likely that something will happen, but dont go calculating or so, if something happens you all will be the first to know. Feel free to comment on the other (maybe more important) aspects of the plan though.

Well, at level 70 any stuff from MC/BWL/AQ40 and Naxx will be like crap, so the DKP's will be of not use for a top level player. Its going to be hard for everyone to get to level 70, and raid groups are also going to be sorted. In a huge way this will be like starting again, in every way, so, why carry some of the old DKP's to the new DKP's accounts??

I mean, if we are all going to start over again, it will be a little unfair that some people start with DKP's while others not, even if those are from RG1 or RG2. (yeah, i know that a lot of people spent a lot of effort in actual instances getting those DKP's)

In my opinion i will love to start all over again from "0", new stuff, new level, new groups, new dkps, etc, but its only my two cents! :)

well, people where saving up dkp, fe i was saving up for the AQ ripper (sword) and the cloack of concentrated hatred, so passed on tier 2.5 stuff. Though we quited raiding way to early imo (not nuff animo and people leaving).

But ofc now that all the major DKP players left it wouldn't be fair against the new TBC raiders, since they most likely wheren't around there at that time.

edit: Bastet altered my words, someone call garagrim :P (jk gara:))
