Now I'm not a spoiled kid it's just that it irritates me time after time..
I got a new pc from my work to do some home working, compleet with wireless keyboard and mouse. Now the keyboard is just fine but the mouse it ain't . Why? Because this damned thing is also for RIGHT HANDED PEOPLE!!!! I'm left handed so there for all the thumb scroll/push buttons cannot be operated by my left hand..... I'm always bound to that DAMNED symetric MOUSE with standard 2 buttons and 1 scroll wheel..... FFS do something about that logitech.
For me it's always not logic to operate a game through W,A,S,D it sure is for right handed people. The casting bar is from the number keys starting from 1 till = (meaning I have to have my whole right hand rested on the keyboard) now I manged to learn myself through the years with the keyboard. I don't want to adjust every single damned time the keybinding with every f,....ing game I play.
But the mouse is just saving a lot of time....but not for me....
Logitech has this on the web site
Question: Does Logitech produce a mouse structured to fit a left handed user, i.e. with the double click and slope of the mouse designed for the left hand?
Answer: Unfortunately, Logitech no longer manufactures left-handed only pointing devices. However, we do manufacture pointing devices that can be used by both left- and right-handed people. You can see our complete product line on our Product (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/productlist&CRID=19&countryid=19&languageid=1) page. Once you’ve installed the software, you can change the orientation of the mouse so that a left-handed person can use it.
In other words,,,,,,no HIGH TECH SUPER DUPPER MULTI BUTTON THUMB SCROLLING MOUSE!!!!
Am I alone out there?
Oh and BTW, don't click on the PRODUCT page, you'll only see SYMETRIC MICE!!!!!
D.
Nope. My daughter has the same problem.
Have a look at:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=left+handed+mice&btnG=Google+Search
The first link on page has lots of left handed mice including Logithech!
At the dMw Affiliate Shop (http://astore.amazon.co.uk/deadmenwalkin-21/202-9451783-8466224) you can buy a logitech mouse for left-handed people aswell :eyebrow:
Same problem here, although I *do* care enough to rebind all my games. I use the numpad for controls on everything, except those games too old (for example the original Half Life) to recognise the numpad and the number keys across the top of the keyboard separately (at which point I use the arrow keys and bind extras to insert - pgdn etc).
Im lefthanded as well. Had my trouble while playing CS on the arrows instead of W A S D but still pwned nuubs like Mazi.
A funny thing tho. Here at work where I am now I have the mouse on the right side but when Im at home I have it on the left side.
But I feel you D. It sucks that cool ergonomic mice is only made for right handed people. Like the Logitech MX Revolution. Its sooo cool but I simply cant use it for gaming as I have the mouse in my left hand!!
Gib left handed ergonomic mice!!
what about other brands? razor and so on? no nice looking lefties there either?
I am left handed, but i cant be arsed to find those mouses, and be annoyed at m8's places by thier righthanders, i just learned to use a right hand mouse hehe. I am sure theres still left handers out there though.
It's not the problem that I can't use it in my right hand, I can...... I even don't swap the buttons (left handed left mouse click with middle finger and right handed left mouse click with pointing finger), it's just that I play more natural with my left hand. Gaming is more precise with my left hand then right....
D.
Yeah. I have no problem using public lab machines on campus right-handed, but for gaming it has to be left handed otherwise I just don't have the fine-grained control.
I did however just find the Logitech MX 610 Wireless on Amazon.com for lefties, after following links on from the DMW affiliate shop (as apparently the one there can't be bought via the affiliate shop for some reason) and have ordered one. OK, it's not the uber new revolution, but it's still a mighty fine mouse. I currently use a Razor Diamondback (no Razor's are ergonomic, they're all for both righties and lefties), as the black plastic and blue glow matches the rest of my PC, but i'm getting annoyed by the cable getting caught on other things on my desk to be honest, and I find the mouse itself to be quite thin/shallow. Something a bit deeper will be more comfortable for my hands.
I'm finally biting the bullet and buying a wireless mouse, after having hated the idea of my mouse needing batteries that could run out when in the middle on an intense gaming session for ages. Here's hoping I don't regret it.
My Dad was the really weird one. Right handed, but got so fed up with me always switching it round for gaming (back when I lived at home) that he just learn to use the mouse left handed. He's swapped back now i've left home/got my own PC though.
I also find the whole idea of swapping the buttons round weird. Despite using it left handed I always have the left button for left click in Windaz/attack in games, and the right mouse button for right click/whatever.
you could always buy an ergonomic mouse and modify its sides.... youde have your personalised mouse ^_^
The entire thing would lean the wrong way :narnar: Not possible.
do it from scratch then :P
whats needed: carve the mouse exterior on some gypsum, buy some rubber and heat it till its a liquid, and pour it on the mouse (ofc it must be in some kind of container)
when it gets cold carefully peel the mould
now you have a mould that resembles what mouse exterior you want, go buy a fibre kit and make your own mouse shell ;)
hmm, or you could just use the fibre mat/resin on the carved out gypsum, either way it should work :P
So far for the exterior, now the buttons
take you old righthanded mouse and get the buttons from it?

It appears that since we selected that product as a front page link that they have stopped supplying it o rLofitech stopped selling it to them. There are still some new or used via the affialiate shops, but not from Amazon themselves. If anyone has a suggested replacement left-hooker mouse that Amazon stock then I'll happily update the product selection on that page.

Yeah, I found one from an Affiliate shop, but it seems that Logitech have stopped making them. Luckily I seem to have got hold of one in time from an affiliate. Though when/if that breaks it looks like i'll have to go back to ambidex mice.
