I found this over at: (dead link)
Thought it was pretty useful as a guide to what sort of size increase to expect compared to your current monitor, hence the post. Hmmmm, 30" LCD panel....... :please:

Nice find indeed TL :D
Only trouble is it has made me start looking at the Dell 3007WFP-HC to go with my new PC that should arrive in about 12 days time.
TL.
Yeah nice find! Bookmarked here.
hmm.. My 19" TFT screen suddenly doesn't seem that big as when I first got it
nice 1 TL.
I was considering a 20inch wide. but i may go for 20inch normal now
Very nice one TL.
I just got my 20.1" Dell 2007 LCD......mucho like it..... 1680 x 1050....
Ask luna for 30" details :D "
Yep, I am waiting until Feb when the Dell 3007WFP-HC becomes available without having to buy a new Dell PC system from them. Reviews of it so far have been seriously impressive.
TL.
umm, you dont have to...
also afaik ocuk sells them too
Nope, they do not sell them. AFAIAA they are not on sale outside of Dell until February. If you wanted to buy from Dell you would have to buy one of their top end systems and buy it from the US as it is not even on the UK website yet.
TL.

a guy in malta has it, and afaik he didnt buy a dell system...
and from overclockers

This Week Only Offer
was £919.00 ex vat
£879.99
£1,033.99 inc VAT
Nope, that's a different monitor G. That's the old one which is readily available and subject to many special offers as the new one is coming out. For clarification:
The old: Dell Ultrasharp 3007WFP
The new: Dell Ultrasharp 3007WFP-HC
I want the new and now retailer yet has the new, other than US Dell. It is due here in the UK for general retail release in February.

That looks nice :D.
It's a bit like the HP LP3065, but it look slike a slightly better panel in the Dell, made by the same company but probably a later revision. That and the fact that the Dell shoudl show up about £400 cheaper than the HP means I will wait until February.......probably :norty:

Btw isn't this worth a sticky? I've used the comparison thingy in the first post a few times now, and reckon it could be useful for people looking for a new monitor.. Just a thought..

I don't think i will be changing form my 22inch crt monitor any time soon. Each pc i own has a 22inch monitor now as i was able to get four 22inch monitors from an ebay seller for £12 each. I also have the space to spare :P.
hmm.. Are you the guy who are playing 4 mages at the same time? kinda sounds like him :narnar:
Btw.. 4 22" CRT monitors? you have to have a big home

Found this which seems to have a bit more screens sizes showing
Not sure I am happy with one of the sizes shown in that piccie.
The picture in the first post shows:
LCD & Widescreen LCD
The picture above shows:
CRT, LCD & Widescreen LCD
4:3 monitors (LCD or CRT) and widescreen should scale in a predictable fashion (you can predict/interpolate on the graph where intermediate points should be) but whilst the widescreens shown do scale predictably the 4:3 LCD screens seem to scale a little unpredictably! If you look at the 17" LCD monitor in the picture above is has not scaled properly (seems bigger than it should be compared to the one smaller and one larger).
Most of the points seem ok, but I think something has scaled incorrectly there on the 4:3 LCD panels.
TL.
Yeah i actually noticed it a few mins after i posted, i know the way manufactures measure CRT / LCD makes the size different (due to the way CRT monitor surfaces bend and stuff like that) but didnt notice the incorrect scales until after...
Sowwwyyyy :S
I would be sure to check out some more about technology before going for a 30 inch.
Read an article about the pro's and cons of 30", and it sure did not recommend them ..yet..
Something about scaling and stuff.
Perhaps i'll put in some more details later on when i remember the stuff. :)
or just re-read.
I know that im going for a 22" or perhaps 24", when it's time to upgrade monitor. :)
Speaking as a 30" user, I have ZERO problems with it and the user experience is insanely good.
TL.
Whilst not being a 30-incher like TL, I have two 24 inchers and think they're superb (except when sitting alongside the 30incher :sad:_)

A bit of an old thread to bump - but hey, it's a stickey, so it's here anyhow.
I came over this nice site where you can get a nice visual comparison (together with mathematical numbers) for any kind of monitors: http://www.displaywars.com/
It doesn't include as many monitors at the same time as the one in the original post, but here you can compare anything :)
Nice find Bob!

Ooooo that's exactly like the one I got delivered for Ã,£231.99  in September last year.
I like it a lot, good blacks and colours. Although the default brightness setting had to be turned down.
I'm more tempted by this, which is at a fair sensible price:

Pah 21" tsk.... besides that looks like finger print smudge city :) But each to their own.

Hmm, it may not have included VAT but it did include delivery.
Now I've got used to it and find myself occasionally thinking I could maybe squeeze a bigger on my desk :g:
But them I come to my senses and realise that once I'm playing and focused that it completely fills my view so anything bigger would be a waste.
I got one of the small ones of these and for the price they are very good monitors. No bells and whistles but very nice. The first one I got had to go back cant remember why now but it also had 5 dead pixles sadly stuck on bright green rather than off. They dont include dead pixels as an rma problem though. I am now waiting for the thin bezzel samsungs to come out to get three of them for some eyefinity action!!! :yahoo:
i have a hanns-g 24" hh241
its a gr8 monitor can even use it for playing my xbox on
get a gr8 1080p res on it
I was just wondering what the difference in size is between a 22" & a 24" monitor & I found this little fella through Google - http://www.displaywars.com/22-inch-16x9-vs-24-inch-16x9
could be usefull for some peeps.

Already a link to that site in [post=270793]this post[/post] :flirty:
So I guess TL (or some other moderator) should add the link to the first post so people can actually find it when clicking at the sticky.
PS: The link to the jpg in the first post is dead btw...
oops, I did a quick scan & didn't see the link, must make more of an effort the next time.
This is my current one:
http://www.viewsonic.com/products/va2223wm.htm
Annoyed though that while I had at uni a scratch appeared on it (no idea how it got there). Maybe considering a new one for Christmas.- I did manage to pick up a new TV with a great Groupon discount in London (http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/london/). This was very fortunate as the old one with the scratch was getting on my nerves!!!
My old monitor 21" 1080p had biro drawn over it from kids, removed by me buy left nasty streaking everywhere.
So I took the opportunity to burn some money and grab this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-070-AS&tool=3
27" of gaming goodness @ 2560x1440 with GSYNC. Games look dead sexy on it due to the higher pixel count and input lag vs vsync vs tearing is now a non issue thanks to GSYNC.
The last monitor upgrade that gave me this "WOW" feeling was when I moved from a 12" CRT to a 28" TFT, but that was mostly due to the weight difference of carrying it to LAN parties!
