Halfways to 61 on Jorgen for some reason, I entered Hellfire Peninsula just for fun to take a look around.
Ended up with 220.000 xp, 30g and a shitload of enchantingmaterials.
And now I'm at work, with no sleep at all and I'm gonna stay here for 8 more hours.

Isn't TBC that new part of WoW?
Title: A portal has opened ....
Post by: TeaLeaf on January 16, 2007, 07:37:10 AM
Aye, TBC is the very eagerly awaited expansion pack for WoW, copies of it were trading on Ebay for ridiculous prices last night - the total UK supply of the Collectors Edition was only 1,000, so they were trading for several hundred pounds each last night as people clamered to get in to the new part of the game.

I waited outside the Dark Portal last night for 'the event' at the opening which turned out to be no more than Blizzard doing a server rollback and disconnecting everyone several times; it was mad how many people were at the Dark Portal waiting to get in, thousands were there.  Unfortunately, unlike those who managed to get their copy of the The Burning Crusade expansion pack (illegally) early, mine will not arrive until  the postman does  so I'll not be able to get a look at the new part of the game until later today.

In other news we're fairly sure that Dajo's team got the server first for the Furnace 1st boss, and Menedil's team got the server first for Ramparts first boss.

Gratz folks, see you on Outlands.

Imagine a event on the same level as for example the AQ event, this would end up with downtime on the servers, followed by loginservers crashing because everyone that disconnected will be trying to get online again.

Blizz had a choise, and tbh I think they made the right one and didn't bother that much about the event itself, but rather keep the servers pretty stable and giving us playtime with the game we all love.
I played nonstop from 1.30AM to 6 this morning without a single problem or a bug at all. :)

Mine turned up this morning after ordering it on Sunday, yes Sunday! from Amazon (via the affiliate link)

So much for pre-ordering :narnar: Looks like they anticipated demand and managed to get enough copies made :D

There are *loads* of normal edition copies available, the short supply was for the Collector's Edition, the UK allocation for that was just one thousand copies.

No delivery heer eyet, so Amazon clearly gave my pre-ordered copy to Gandalf :norty:

Interestingly several of the MK shops have not yet received their stock, looks like someone hi-jacked the Milton Keynes lorry load

I've just looked at mine, it has an auth key with it so I can't upload the installers as they'd be no use without the key :(

Three CD's though, surprised it's not one DVD

4 CD's actually.. The fourth is in a separate 'package' within the case.. But yea.. Would've been more nice with 1 DVD instead of 4 CDs

Title: level 50
Post by: FBG on January 23, 2007, 09:49:32 AM
Yeah umm, whats the starting level for the expansion set? just got to level 50 :-/
Title: A portal has opened ....
Post by: Carr0t on January 23, 2007, 09:59:01 AM
Well it adds new races, and Jewelcrafting as a new professsion, so technically you could say the starting level for it is 1. But the vast majority of the content - visiting Outland etc - is lvl 60+.
Title: A portal has opened ....
Post by: Jamoe on January 23, 2007, 10:25:58 AM
i think you can go in at lvl 58.

TBC most defintely rocks.  Great new instances, some real nice quest lines once you get into the key quest chains and the most excellent flying mounts!

:withstupid:
Although only been playing for 4 days, so only lvl 65 atm (64 really, but 1 hour away from 65), but so far its been nothing but an awesome experience.. Favourite area became Nagrand yesterday..
Title: A portal has opened ....
Post by: Bastet on January 30, 2007, 12:02:36 PM
The new expension is awsome, but i dont like some of the zones (odly nargrand i really dislike, its all kill 30 of everything quests).

The new bosses and instances are well worth while and show that a lot of time has been put in. Allthough there are some bugs its less then i expected.

My favorite encounter so far is the 2 headed orge in shatterd halls who's heads fight amongst themselfs. :lmfao:
