Title: powerbox in a car??
Post by: King on January 17, 2007, 07:00:29 PM
Is there anyone who knows about an powerbox or chiptuning?:norty: :norty:
I am thinking about this but what is better.
Powerbox 125 euro and chiptuning is about 275 euros.
Same efect, but what is better for the car?

though make sure the rest of your car can handle the extra power/torque you might release - don't want your axel shredding on a motorway or something ;)

I think chip-tuning works better in certain models than others, usually when it's the same engine merely detuned in the less powerful car (Audi A3 I believe is a good one to chiptune for example?) If your engine is already near maximum then it might not yeild as much extra power as you'd hope...

A fully mappable chip is better than an off the shelf plug-in, especially if you've other engine modifications as it allows parameters to be configured to suit your setup and your required performance profile.

I have got an toyota corolla verso 2.0 l d4d diesel.
And most diesels you get upto 30 pk and 70 torque more.
So thats nice verry nice:woot2: :woot2:
Then i have got 280 torque, and about 120 pk.:norty:

Was this for chipping or putting a powerbox in that was too expensive? And what were the prices they were quoting?

They said that taking out the chip is not easy beacouse its in some kind off kit.  And that adress does not have the right power box.

All the other adresse start from about 500 euros for a powerbox.:ranting2:

And i don't want to spent more then 300 euros.:sideways:
