Title: So what is this.....
Post by: Anonymous on January 18, 2007, 07:23:49 PM
If you have Google Earth have a look at this location (download file then double click to launch google earth):

http://www.sutherlandweb.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/dmw/Strange!.kmz (http://www.sutherlandweb.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/dmw/Strange%21.kmz)

Wonder what it could be?
Why does it not appear on the 1:50,000 maps of the area?
Is that Faslane nearby perhaps?

BTW google earth Live is soon to be beta tested.

If you zoom in on your house, run into the garden and look up, you'll see yourself looking down, and your face is Ten miles wide!

Google earth live? So you can see cars a stuff moving?
how will they be doing that? doesn't that take a lot of satelites and stuff to do that? and skies gets in the way and so on.. Or did I just misunderstand the 'live' part? :g:

QuoteThe facility is protected by Fleet Protection Group Royal Marines (http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/static/pages/7429.html) - an elite infanty unit of the Royal Navy

Its a pretty impressive site anyway! But don't try and enter the facility without permission will you guys...!

To give you an idea of the royal marines capability. They're often tasked alongside U.S. Navy Seals in operations as they're very similar.

Tell that to the marines!

Fascinating stuff though

I would' show you the WWII ammo storage and secret rail sidings near Bath, but I'd have to kill you...
Unfortunately the satelites that photogragh this neck of the woods are only equipped with kodak brownies:sad:
