Title: New PC
Post by: RizZy on January 18, 2007, 07:45:46 PM
Hey guys, my mate's thinking about buying/building himself a new pc at some point & he's asked me for help ( the fool ) now it's been like 2 years since I knew what was good, so can anyone point me in the right direction for what to point him in the right direction to buy?

If you really wanna go crazy he has something like a grand to spend & he's just looking for the base unit & nice new monitor (widescreen/flat etc)

cheers.

Martin.

These are the ones that they put in the Buffalo NAS/USB devices (remember the network share I brought for a couple of LAN's) and they are very quiet, there is a slight vibration when placed on a solid surface when its in use.

I upgraded my NAS box and made sure I got a 'Spinpoint'.

Although the old one has developed as slight whine since I put it in another caddy!

But for a grand, he should get a very nice system, you can always go cutting edge (mainstream) for that sort of money.

I see the new core2s are now out, extra cache at the budget end for no extra cash.
