I'd like feedback on reducing the number of player slots on Boomer to 16.

I have found that up to this number a couple of admins can manage to get a good game of TCS going, above this you need more admins and you have less time to enjoy the games.

Fine by me.

We might consider opening another server soon. Seems to be few unregistered "regulars" that keeps coming back. Good to have a full server on a Thursday night. :D

Or maybe just open MH up for public play all days but Fridays.

I'd agree, but when you have several admins on, as we did tonight, there's not too much to do.

Is there a quick way to up the number of slots if we have all bases covered?

we had some cracking games tonight and got added to lots of peoples favourites.

just a word to say...well admined tonight folks:thumbsupsmileyanim:

unfortunately you cannot change the maxplayers var while the server is running - it requires a restart to take effect.

When we get enough registered regulars on the server we could always switch to Meathook, at least then we don't have to worry about the frag monkey's that come along to spoil the fun.

I have to agree, that and 10 on 10 vs 8 on 8 makes a huge differance for the ability to play TCS.

You may be able to control player numbers by using reserved slots. These you can change on the fly.:)

Heres also a thought, some servers i used to play on limit team size and force rest in spectate, maybe that option can also be changed w/o reboot? (donno though, never actualy managed a server :) )
