The origin of 'troll' probably goes back much further than what we today would call Norwegian and Danish. The true origin will be the the language that was spoken in the whole of Scandinavia in the Viking age, namely Old Norse (http://encyclopedia.tfd.com/Old+Norse), and since both Norwegian and Danish are descendants of that, we're both equally right and wrong :flirty:
