As all of you will no doubt have noticed recently there has been a major change in the mood within the guild which has resulted from the TBC launch and a lot of our close friends moving out.
As a result of this, more people decided to leave today, making the proposed plans for TBC raiding unworkable. This will result in further members leaving to pursue their own goal of raiding. This effectively brings to a close any chance of SOG forming an active raiding guild for the time being and in order to prevent SOG from having a prolonged & painful death the officers have decided to pull the plug and disband the guild to save the good name, and remember the good times we had as a group.
This was a difficult decision, but it confirms what many have thought was the final conclusion to recent events. Perhaps we have been trying to extend SOG's life beyond its natural life expectancy (maybe we have been doing this since TBC launch).
We apologize for not beeing able to live up to your expectations and provide a solid platform for SOG to thrive on in TBC, but it appears that the leaving of so many members has cost us dearly.
We wish all the members the very best of luck for TBC and beyond and blame Sinap for all that went wrong :narnar:
Signed Bastet & Officers
PS: Disband will occur in about a week after today.
Really shame, but its probably for the best, i've seen good guilds on aggramar continue after this big of losses, and it will never be the same and imo its a little foolish to think/want things to go back as they where since they won't.
I must say Im actually not that surprised.. Before christmas I could never see myself without SOG, but lately there has been a lot of people leaving and apparently also problems..
This is a sad day for me.
What about the Guildbank? :flirty:
/me checks date and sadly realises it is not 1st April
I am sad to see SOG like this
But to react to mazii
By my calculation you still own the guild bank 1305 gold for the mats of Sulfuras you ninja'd just b4 Gquiting :sideways:
so you aint getting no nothing :sideways:
I had a blast.. shame its over!
Well 1 year of good raiding with wonderful people. I've been lucky enough to fight with the RG1 in the battle against Blackwing Lair bosses and to learn how to defeat AQ lords.
It has been a pleasure to fight with you guys. :)
I'm not in the guild anymore my dear friend. I just asked since I heard some people saying something with the gbank wouldnt be shared....wont say more.
Do you envy me because I got the weapon? It seems. For your information, its not worth anything anymore, and if I could go back in time I would have passed it just to avoid your whining.
It has been a priveledge.
D. signing out for good.
hhhmm a rogue without a new home:sad:
Well it has been an honor for being in the guild even that i wasn't a big part of it....
I can't say I didn't see this coming, but it's still sad to read this announcement  .
I had a really good time in SoG; I really felt at home :huggy: . I'd like to thank everyone for that and also wish you all good luck with whatever you decide to do when the end comes. I will remain in SoG for as long as it remains, cya around everyone :bye2: .
P.S.: If you ever need help with anything or have questions about druid stuff, feel free to whisper me :) .
Gorion has taken the Guild's Helm for this present time.
The guild is not being disbanded within the immediate future.
Please act in a calm and rational manner, there are sick bags located under your seats.
That is all for now, please enjoy your (somewhat turbulent) flight.
Shep
I was one of the ppl that left today. Logged in to say goodbye and thank you, and saw this.
It has been a priveledge to be in this guild. Without it, I may never have seen the insides of BWL, never faced Onyxia's warm breath or hiding from Raggy behind my shield.
Being in SoG has definately been one of the best things that has happened to me in WoW! :)
The reasons i left are pretty much what everybody else has stated, be it Genesis or Redemption; friends moving there, feeling the urge to "start over", the "moody" feeling bastet mentioned and so on.
I hope there there will be no hard feelings towards me or any other that has recently left the guild, and you are of course welcome to contact me in-game, should there be anything i might be able to help with.
I hope you all will have a bright future in WoW, with lots of fun and with ppl you're gonna share that fun with. Some of you I will see again, some probably not.
But to you ALL, thank you for the time we had in SoG together!
SoG will be remembered!
Peace - Mjolner
