Title: Class Register
Post by: Sheperdbook on February 05, 2007, 08:50:55 PM
Had a little count up earlier of Classes and Levels (62+) and well here's the basics, as they presently stand. I have not included peeps that have already stated that they're leaving/raiding with other characters in other guilds.

Druids:       70,70,70,69,66,66,65,64,63,63,63,62
Hunters:     68,67,66,65,64,64,64,62
Mages:       70,68,68,65,64,63,62,62,62,62
Pallies:        65,63,63
Priests:       65,63,63
Rogues:      70,68,67,66,65,64
Shamans:    None (what a surprise)
Warlocks:    66,64,63,63,63,63
Warriors:     69,69,68,67,65,64,63,63,63,62,62

We can obviously expect a few more of these to leave, but I think we can make a long-term decision to avoid enrolling more Druids, Warriors, Mages and Hunters. So long as we keep an eye on this we can make sure that there won't be guild size problems in the future.

Obviously in the long run if we can 'persuade' any present Druids, Warriors, Mages and Hunters to use Priests or Paladins (I'll be lvl'ing both) as raiding characters we should have a viable raiding force.

Otherwise we should be on the look out for priests and pallies. From past experience; Pallies shouldn't really be too hard to come by, Priests always have been a little elusive.

I'd say we should review the numbers in about a week's time and see how many more have left. From there we can probably start up some sort of random dungeon run rota till we're ready for any 25 man raids (quite likely some time away so we need to keep everyone occupied).

Well those are my thoughts!

Stay in the parent forum (SOG War Room), so you can see the thread list, mark the thread(s) you want to do stuff with (move/edit/delete/etc) in the checkbox right of the thread, and below the thread list you have this drop-down box where you choose what action you want to perform.
For instance when you want to move, you get a new window where you choose where you want to move it too, and you can also choose if you want to leave a (temporary) link from where you just moved the thread :)

And I just did that for you :flirty:

In my opinion I think we should put in on hold at least for a bit. We can tell the guy that we might be interested in taking him, but that we're kinda in the middle of a big restructuring, and we would like another week or so to sort things out.

On the topic of how we're gonna recruit and invite new members, I have a very strong opinion on this. I wrote a rather long post about it in the public thread about the TBC battle plan, and I've just copied that one into our forum here, as I think that's something we really should discuss and consider. You'll find the post in the SOG War Room>General, or you can just [post=176010]clicky this[/post].

About that shaman friend of Katuf that applied - perhaps we just should give him a try, guess it couldn't hurt much. But on the other side, what about our own members? I was just online looking at the guild list, and atm we have no more tha 4 shamans, and only one of those are a main (Dreaman lvl35 (dMw Articfire)) - the 2nd is Dantaris (lvl13, alt of Tristant), and the last two are alts of Sheepy and Bastet (which prolly mean they can't be counted).

So I see we have a shammy problem (or at least might have one in some time). But as Shep mentioned in the first post, we have an overweight of druids, warriors, mages and hunters, so we could perhaps inform our members that we are interested in some of these to perhaps level a shammie (or even a pally or a priest, since we also are a bit short on these classes), and this way we won't depend on having to invite new members of these classes.

But than again it probably won't hurt to invite this one guy - might be nice to have one high-level shaman in the guild, so that people planning to level one have somebody to turn to when they have questions about the class :)

Well in the early raids i dont think theres much to worry about on shammy. As theres only 1 lvl 70 shammy so far and ppl are progressing well into tower of medivh and such.

Depending on timescale Bobbyus might be a useful addition.  We have plenty of hunters and Lucian will be pretty redundant.  I was trying not to take Bobby over to the Outland however until he had hit 300 JC.  Your call though.  Will I begin his leveling?

its unfair to ask someone to focus on an alt when his main aint 70 yet

As promised it's now been a week, so this week's 62+ register:

Druids: 70,67,65,65,64,63,63
Hunters: 70,69,66,66,66,65,62
Mages: 70,69,69,68,65,64,64,64,62
Paladins: 66,63,63
Priests: 66,65,63,63
Rogues: 70,69,68,68,67,65,64,62
Shaman: Highest Lvl: 38
Warlock: 70,68,65,65,64,64,63,63
Warrior: 70,70,70,68,64,64,64,63,63,63,62,62

First we have 3 more 70s than a week ago. However it appears that alot of Druids have left... probably the most distinctive change in the demographics here.

So now we have a definite shortage of healers, also I'm not convinced by the amount of time that these players will dedicate given the slow progress of lvl'ing.

On the DPS front we look alright and also have a few tanks.

I wouldn't discourage any class for now given this week's change in the druid population.

I think I'll have to push Bobby through - I'll see whatI can manage next weekend.  If we are looking for a raid team sooner rather than later, something needs to be done about the healers...

With the current ammount of leveling priests, druids and paladins you should be able to do a dual karasthan, which needs about 4 healers per group.

so no worries then? :)
it will work out by itself.

so i can play with lucian? and if lucky we get lvl 70 at same time :dribble:
and then we can switch, i'm on my lock and lucian on his pally =) that would be great :norty:

Karazhan groups have been working well with one healing priest, one healing pallie and one healing druid.  You do not need to be stacked with priests.

As a side note on TL's comment, a second priest is very handy for the second shackle in some fights / trash, but with creative thinking can also be avoided (paladin turn undead works wonders too)
