During the rest of this week, we shall cleanup the forum of old or un-needed posts.
These will be stored in a hidden section, just in case the need for them arises
Regards,
The officers
All agree? or wish to add/modify anything?
Sounds fine G!
Can also that announcement that has been discussed in the other thread be posted (see [post=176151]last draft[/post])? We can just skip mention Tanales at this time if you haven't heard anything form him.
yup, ille call that Phase 1 - The Core
ille try to get a hang of Tanales today
I'm good with that. Maybe something to stress it isn't being deleted?

Quote from: Nefertem;176439In all sections or just Announcements, Raiding, Application, and general? Becuase off-topic isn't really needed, but some fun stuff to find in there if you wanna go nostalgic..
Quote from: Gorion;176443most of the sections, just removed around 19 pages from general
All offtopic threads dating to pre November 06 have been stashed away
A total of 1,422 threads have been stashed away
You don't think you've gone a bit too hard on that forum clean-up Gorion? My initial though, was to only remove stickies that were only filling up space on top in the thread lists, since everything else will only be pushed back when new threads are added... As Neferten said, it might be nice to have the things there, purely for nostalgic reasons.
Also, if we are to continue trashing away this vast amount of threads (which I really think we shouldn't), it would really be an advantage to have a bit more structured storage forum for 'em, since the "on hold" forum now is filled with 1.5k posts, and finding anything in there (and what's even worse, just browsing it) is kinda hopeless...
As long as a post doesn't do any harm, or provide directly false information, I think we should leave it out in the public section.
Edit: I just also saw that many posts also from this year (many goodbye posts, but still, no harm in them) have been trashed as well.
A question for TL: if we were to undo stuff - is there a way to move a bulk of threads back to their original placement?
most of them were very old threads, dating back since we moved to the dmw forums.. (20+ pages from general forum, another 20 or so from the raiding one.. and 15ish from offtopic, i even cleaned up the wow section(there were posts there about sog downing ragnaros..))
i stored away the goodbye posts cos they provide pain..
imho, a fresh start required this
i did this thread by thread, all the ones containing usefull stuff were left were they were, or moved to the place they belong

If they are still in topics then it's easy to move the topics back, but if you bulk moved posts then there is no easy way of moving them back unless you either bulk move them, or select them and the forum topic they should go back into. As I mentioned before, the moderator admin controls are very powerful, so make sure you think carefully before using!
