Title: 2 questions please.
Post by: Penfold on February 08, 2007, 11:57:13 PM
1. like Blunt was, I'm typing many messages  when I play which is hard work when spectating/adminning. so I've been reading about the RCONGUI thing. Is it a download? I can't find any reference to it.

2. If one wants to watch/admin - i think it can be done via HLSW. I have found a link for that.

3. Am I going to bugger up the servers and/or ban myself (no names :whistling2:)

4. Is it all to technical and I should just use the @ key?

Thanks

Most of us use HLSW but you cannot see any mane_admin chat messages in the chat window (only in the console window) whic is rather annoying.

Have a look at RCONGUI for in game admin stuff:

Thanks BB .... well all that looks far too technical for an ijit like myself! Maybe I'll ease into that one slowly - lol

In the interim, I think perhaps I'll try and do the bind route:

i.e.

1. bind "w" to say "T's - Please guard the hostages / bombsites" etc

I saw a thread which talked about making a dmw.cfg file.

Thanks

Blunt is a Senior CS Admin and that is why he uses RCONGUI.

It would be better if you stick with Mani for now.

The bind route is also a good idea as Mani admins can do that.

NOTE: Pen posted the above while I was typing this. :D

Re-arrange this popular phrase or expression:

PS. Binding is more than fine - I'm reading a tutorial on how to do it ..... Just to have a 3 or 4 stock phrases bound is all I was after.

It gives you remote access to real-time server logs/chat and a multitude of new ways to ban yourself from the server :narnar:

It's pretty straightforward, the only thing to watch is that you type the RCON PW in correctly, hide it then save it (by clicking the two relevant boxes) and if the RCON PW ever changes don't try and RCON the server from HLSW until you update the password in HLSW because thats how I banned myself

OK then, Blunt has the ability to use HLSW as he is a senior CS Admin :narnar:

Didn't realise he didn't know about it!
You really should read the forums more Blunt
