Good cos DRM is stupid!!!! fisrt of all the music industry makes themselves the victim in the media/press..... and that sets us up for nazi strength copy control that is drm.... no drm for tapes or CDs so why the hell do they have it on mp3 downloads?  and "because its easy to distribute" does not cut it with me.

As you can buy a CD for similar cost, rip it, and store it as your backup it makes digital music bought online at the moment (i.e. with DRM) almost pointless. Those ripped mp3s/aac/etc are totally free of restrictions.

The fact that HD-DVD (and Blu-ray too soon I'd imagine) has been almost totally cracked already makes a farce of the costs and inconveniences of DRM for both us and industry. Hopefully won't be long now before a new business model is reached that will satisfy industry!
