Title: Instance Runs continue
Post by: JanuZ on February 26, 2007, 11:58:59 PM
We have had 3days with scheduled 1-2instance runs now and we had quick successful runs each day. I will not be scheduling any runs via the forums the next days but on most days i will be organizing runs at 20:00. So if you are interested in a run make sure you are online at that time and i will ask in guild chat. I will most likly also try organizing other runs when i am online but they will never crash with the 20:00 timing.

Hope to see more people, and i also hope to see more people taking the initiative to start groups. there is alot of interest for instance runs but few people are willing to start making the group and also to many aren't willing to drop the questing they can do any time for playing in a group.

I doubt I'll have time for any runs the coming days - perhaps one or two during the weekend, but hardly that. School is really starting to tighten up :sideways:

Ill be looking for runs to Steamvault, Arcatraz, Shattered Halls, Botanica and Mechanar the the next few days, so if anyone needs a tank, let me know..

If anyone got the guts (and rep) for some herioc mana-tombs im up for that too (need some tanking boots from there)..

What boss does those boots drop from Nef?

I don't have the rep yet nor the level to help you out in mana tombs and my guess is that noone in the guild has the equipment to help you :D

Mana tombs is one of the hardest heroic dungeons in the game.
If you look at the list at the bottom you will see mana tombs having 2 of the bosses and the trash on the hard lists :D
Though if it is off the first boss and you have some shadow resist we might be able to do some tries soon.

I will be looking for steamvaults and shadow labs runs though the next days(have training until 21:00) so no run tonight unless it starts at 21:30

My hope was to try slave pens or underbog heroic somewhere close to the end of the week and to possibly have enough people attuned to karazhan at wednsday next week for a try at the first bosses their in that week

No heroics require flasks, unless you are undergeared. You may want dps flasks on the Mercy trial just because it's a race, but unless your group is severely undergeared, no flask is needed otherwise (we completed all trials without flasks, although we used them a bit while learning the zones). It's hard to make a list like that, because some bosses are very hard with a certain group makeup, while the zone is easier with another.

Hardest bosses:
Pandemonius (Mana Tombs) - Tank requires shadow resist
Zereketh the Unbound (Arcatraz) - Requires luck
Broggok event (Blood Furnace) - Requires pain
Calculator (Mechanar) - Requires heavy dps / add control / healing
Nexus-Prince (Mana Tombs) - Requires heavy dps / add control / healing
Warbringer O'mrogg (Shattered Halls) - Requires group build / luck
Kargath Bladefist (Shattered Halls) - Requires some luck / dps
Thorngrin the Tender (Botanica) - Just pure insane

Hardest zones (hardest trash mobs on average):
Mana Tombs (Immolation packs / voidwalkers)
Shadow Lab (Fel Overseer / Shadow priest packs) - 2 mages and a good strategy trivialize it however, it's not that big of an issue
Shattered Halls (the huge Lego packs) - heavy cc / dps / control is very necessary here. The tri-sharpshooter pack kind of sucks, they viper sting. The dog packs are pretty lame, the dogs are non-elite and melee for 11k. The hunter in the dog packs cures all debuffs on any mob that is in combat (makes dogs a bit harder). Any lego pack takes some planning and execution
Botanica (Mechanical things - pure arcane melee, fleshbeast packs) - AR helps the tank some, fleshbeast pack takes lots of control / dps

Easiest zones / bosses:
Slave Pens
Underbog
Steam Vaults
Ramparts (unless you have a lot of melee)
Sethek Halls
Mechanar

For badges:
Mechanar > All

For Primal Nether:
Steam Vaults > Ramparts > all

Drops off Pandemonius.. Got a few things Id like from various Heroic bosses, btu as you said they're kinda hard.. Just the only place I can enter atm of the heroic ones

but till then Im up for most instances :) Although the ones listed before is preferred :norty:

EDIT: Id like to know what res-gear Im suppose to use in the some of the instances so I can start gathering (I see arcane and shadow is needed in some of the heroic).. any chance of you finding that, drazilla? :D (lazy myself)

As far as i know you want some resistance gear for all resistances but i don't think there is any fight you want to gimp your tanking stats to get more then 100resistance unbuffed. And seeing as you can get the Glyphs for almost all resistances from Revered Rep that shouldn't be hard to get.

Except for the mentioned resistances here the only once i can remember outside of 25man instances is fire resist for dragon in Ramparts and some nature resist for the last boss of Slave Pens. I haven't been into the tempest keep but i don't think you need resists for those.

I don't think you need any resist for Karazhan and neither for Gruul's Lair. I think the tank needs some fire resist for The Eye and Magtheridon and some frost resist for Serpentshrine but that is far into the future.

Having cleared up to and including Prince Malchezaar in Karazhan I can confirm that the tanks need no special resistance gear in Karazhan (at least so far!!) and I am not aware that the final boss needs it either.  Some resistance pots occasionally help a particular fight, but in Karazhan you basically need as much armor and HP as possible.  Some of the bosses hit for huge damage so high mitigation helps and the healers need to get used to focused massive healing - a break in the healing or a mis-timed heal can kill a tank.  From the Curator onwards DPS also needs to be very high, that means full enchants and good weapons and gear to maintain the DPS for the duration of the fight.  Unfortunately once you are past the first few bosses in Karazhan your consumption of consumables will also be high (and continue to be high until Blizz 'better tune' the encounters).  Until your gear level picks up quite a bit then expect to use multiple pots per try, food buffs, oils and occasionally a flask to help things along.

As Teni said, the resistance gear mainly kicks in for later instances.
