on UKCS (http://www.ukcs.net/) (mega servers), the teams reverse in the middle of each map (automatically), so if there are 12 rounds of a map, each team plays 6 as T and 6 as CT.
This is quite nice as you get to play both roles on each map. Maybe we could use this on the MH for our fridays? Maybe on Boomer?
Well, we (BB and others) have allready balanced the maprotation.
If teams are unbalanced then people are asked to swap and I think this is the correct way.
If autoswap takes place halfway the map then this might give some confusion.
I do like the idea but I don't think it's something for our Fridaynights, maybe something for our publicserver though...
also if the teams are unbalanced in numbers due to the map being "on of those" tricky ones for one side then swapping the teams would seriously tilt it over the edge for a round and people would have to swap back. If you want to change sides I guess you could always ask if anyone on the other side will swap with you to keep things even. There's usually someone who'd like to swap!
I'm with Suicidal on this one, especially on a map like assault where you could have 10 CT's and only 6 T's.
I don't think it's broke, so lets not fix it.
Yep, forgot to mention this goes with auto team-balnace. I do not think it hinders our way of gaming, but anyhow was just a suggestion baloon...
BTW, if you would join these servers, you would see what I mean and how smoothly it works - may worth the time when Boomer is empty (and you would get to play real nice maps, most of them too big for us).
I suggest you should just ask if someone on the other side will swap with you if you have played T/CT on the same maps 5 nights runnings etc :)
Auto-swapping teams seems like risky business to me, considering the amount of times people forget they're on a different team even after swapping by themselves :doh:
Anyhow, keeping the teams balanced and fair should be the responsibility of all players, to make sure everyone enjoys their stay, especially on public server.
Speaking of which, we've had a large amount of people on boomer today (it's 2:02 here in spain, so for me it's yesterday or something like that) that didn't quite get the whole "play by the rules or have an admin make you explode" thing. Seriously, how hard can it be to read the shiny green text-messages?!?

I can see why people would want the in-map swap. But I am with the rest here, mainly because I would end up with a 50/50 chance of knowing who to shoot :doh: Wait... that is the current, so more like 25% chance hehe...

They simply don't give a damn... sometimes you have to tutor, kick and ban. Still, others may not care. So many other servers out there and so little TCS players...
If they dont learn it after a slay or 2 they probably dont learn it ever. At least be calm, and collected and if you get abuse take swift action.

Rule of thumb is: if they don't even bother asking why they got slayed, they don't really care too much and should simply get kicked after the first one.
