My boss g=his computer is making alot of noise and he thinks it's because of F@H (F@H).
Any suggestions on how I can check out on how to reduce the noise?
The other day I allready cleaned his computer because there was a little bit of dust in it...
Anymore suggestions? Otherwise I'm going to loose a Foldingrig probably (stop cheering BB :flirty: ).
I had a similar problem at work where because the client was running at 90%, it was causing the CPU fan to run at it's fastest speed. The only solution was to drop the client down to use 50% CPU (better than nothing).
get your boss 1 of these

Hampster cooling...and It'll mask the noise from the pc
I turned F@H (F@H) off and it was still making alot of noise.
IThis comp also our printserver.
My comp is almost the exact same and mine never makes alot of noise (although it's used more).
@ Blunt: Do you have some more specs for it?
Tryed it yourself?
what sort of noise though? fan, hdd, something else? Most likely culprits:
Could be a fan bearing going south - in which case you can just replace the fan with a new one. Fans don't last forever, especially if they're at full tilt 24/7. Check the fans by unlugging them or briefly stopping them one at a time.
Could be the hard drive suffering from repeated reads and writes (hdd clicking noises) in which case do some backups (if you don't do backups regularly anyway?)
if it's neither of those then you need to id the source better ;)
The computer sometimes suddenly just seems to take off for 3-5 seconds and then goes quiet again. It is the fan that's making the sound...
