Only map I can play off that list is backalley, and the ones I DLed off other servers on other occations (that a word?), so I probably won't be playing them today
You guys could maybe consider leaving MH open for map-downloading while it's not actually being used, that way all that have problems with ones DLed externaly (like me) can get them off there.

Trouble is that uses lots of bandwidth which we have to pay for. Just download the maps from the links we give - its not hard :)

What is the problems with the links you find here (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=18826)? I can upload them to a different site if you like if that would help?

Bikini, Contra, Code name Otter, Vertigo and cpl Mill all came up are '.rar' files when I downloaded them. I extracted them and tried to get on while Bikini was on but no luck.

Any advice? surely they should ALL be .zip files?

.rar files are just another way of compressing files and bundling them together, just like zips but a slightly different format.

If you've uncompressed them and put them in the correct location that should be it.  :g:

If winzip doesn't handle them then look for a program called winrar

I dunno, some of the maps where pritty nice, but at a start of a new one, that me, and at least some more havent played, id like to have a couple min to run arround and figure out where ppl can come from and what might be sensible TCS limits. Though, that not happening, might just because i didnt have a chance to join till late.

Still for next time, please give a round for ppl to figure out the map. Would have made the whole thing a lot more enjoyable for me at least. Then again, with raids, i probably not be able to join again next sunday :crying:

First, didn't make it, 2 good movies were on.
Second, I use winrar allways for zipping. It's a Freeware program so do a Google on it.
The links that were put up all worked for me, simply, right click, save as...

Was great fun :) :boxing:

Vertigo was very VERY fun, Souless trying to organice mass suicide :roflmao:

But i think perhaps we should have abit more than 13 rounds on the customs? So that we can get a bit more time get to know the map? Or perhaps just on round to run around and orient ourself?

We did do that on a number of maps. I just assumed that everyone knew Vertigo as I didn't see any comments at the start.
If you want a hold at the start of the map to help you find your way around, please shout. :)

Unzipped them, but I's not really sure I've put them in the right folder. They went in the same one as backalley2 and that one worked fine, even though it's the only one from a long list

The maps need to go into "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\\counter-strike source\cstrike\maps" folder. Other files will need to go into materials folder, sounds folder etc.

When you unzip the maps they may give you a folder structure that starts at "cstrike" and has the other folders below it. You need to match the resulting folder structures to the cstrike folder - ie, if the extracted files start with a cstrike folder then copy that cstrike folder to your "counter-strike source" folder

That happened at the start of each round as far as I remember - it is a dMw "tradition" to ensure that we all know the basics of the map layout.

I'd like to make a suggestion regarding walkthroughs...

Normally we all swap to CT and run round behind the guy doing the tour...It can be very confusing when trying to follow the tour and everyone runs around (they all look the same to me)
I suggest that, if you're easily confused like me, go spec and follow the tour guide in 1st person.
